Yuri Kurilsky
Yuri Kurilsky (Belarusian: ''Юры Курыльскі''; 1978/1979 – 2007), known as The Monster with the Black Volga (Belarusian: ''Монстар з чорнай волгай'') was a Belarusian serial killer who killed three women and girls around the Vitebsk Region from 2004 to 2005. He was convicted, sentenced to death and subsequently executed for these crimes in 2007. Biography Little is known of Kurilsky's personal life. Born in Novopolotsk, by the time of the crimes he was married and worked as an operator at the Naftan Oil Refinery. While he was a respected citizen, locals noted that he was easily angered and very aggressive when provoked. From 2004 to 2005, Kurilsky would cruise around the Vitebsk Region in his black Volga and would pick up any victims he found suitable to satisfy his sexual demands. Novopolotsk ( be, Наваполацк (Cyrillic), Navapołack (Łacinka), translit=Navapolatsk, ; russian: Новополоцк, translit=Novopolotsk, ) is a city in Vitebsk Oblast, Belarus, with a population (2008 estimate) of 107,458. Founded in 1958, it is located close to the city of Polotsk and the name literally means "New Polotsk." Industry Out of all the cities in the Vitebsk Oblast, Novopolotsk is the leading producer in the refining and chemical industry business. The entire city of Novopolotsk and Polotsk live and survive because of this industry. OJSC "Naftan" Naftan is the leading oil refinery. It was constructed in 1959. This refinery takes crude oil from the Volga Region of Russia and generates diesel, gasoline, and kerosine, along with other technological products. Tire Iron
A tire iron (also tire lever or tire spoon) is a specialized metal tool used in working with tires. Tire irons have not been in common use for automobile tires since the shift to the use of tubeless tires in the late 1950s. Bicycle tire irons are still in use for those tires which have a separate inner tube, and can have a hooked C-shape cut into one end of the iron so that it may be hooked on a bicycle spoke to hold it in place. After one iron has pried a portion of the tire from its wheel, it is held in position while a second iron is applied further along the tire to pry more of the tire away from the wheel.
