Yuri Aleksandrovich Chaplygin
Yuri Aleksandrovich Chaplygin (russian: Юрий Александрович Чаплыгин), a full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, is the president of the National Research University of Electronic Technology, Doctor of Engineering Sciences. Born on July 12, 1951, in Kursk. Studied at MIET (1968–1974), graduated with honors. 1974-1983 – postgraduate, engineer, junior scientist, assistant at the Chair of General Physics at National Research University of Electronic Technology 1984-1987 – assistant vice-rector for research. 1987-1988 – partkom secretary. 1988-1998 – vice-rector for research at MIET. In October 1998 was elected MIET rector, in June 2016 was elected MIET president. A scholar in physics, integrated-circuits, sensors, microsystem technology and nanotechnology. Kursk
Kursk ( rus, Курск, p=ˈkursk) is a city and the administrative center of Kursk Oblast, Russia, located at the confluence of the Kur, Tuskar, and Seym rivers. The area around Kursk was the site of a turning point in the Soviet–German struggle during World War II and the site of the largest tank battle in history. Geography Urban layout Kursk was originally built as a fortress city, on a hill dominating the plain. The settlement was surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs and rivers. From the west, the Kur river, from the south and east, the Tuskar river, and from the north, forest thickets approached it. By 1603, Kursk had become a large military, administrative and economic center of a vast territory in the south of the country. The new fortress was built under the leadership of the governor Ivan Polev and Nelyub Ogaryov. The Order of Honour ( rus, орден Почёта, r=orden Pachyota) is a state order of the Russian Federation established by Presidential Decree No. 442 of March 2, 1994 to recognise high achievements in government, economic, scientific, sociocultural, public, sport and charitable activities. Its statute was amended by decree No. 19 of January 6, 1999 and more lately by decree No. 1099 of January 7, 2010 which defined its present status. It should not be confused with the Soviet Order of the Badge of Honour, although the current order maintains continuity with it. The Order of Friendship (russian: Орден Дружбы, ') is a state decoration of the Russian Federation established by Boris Yeltsin by presidential decree 442 of 2 March 1994 to reward Russian and foreign nationals whose work, deeds and efforts have been aimed at the betterment of relations with the Russian Federation and its people. The design of order was created by Alexander Zhuk. Its statute was later amended by presidential decree 19 of 6 January 1999, presidential decree 1999 of 7 September 2010, presidential decree 1631 of 16 December 2011, and presidential decree 308 of 16 March 2012. It can trace its lineage to the Soviet Order of Friendship of Peoples, also designed by Alexander Zhuk.
