Fuxing Road, Beijing
Fuxing Road () is a road in western Beijing, China, forming part of the extended Chang'an Avenue. The entire road lies within the confines of Haidian District. It is believed to run from Gongzhufen on the West 3rd Ring Road through to the West 5th Ring Road; however, maps indicate its path from Muxidi Bridge (just before the West 3rd Ring Road) to Yuquanlu (just after the West 4th Ring Road). The Wukesong Indoor Stadium, a venue for the 2008 Summer Olympics, runs alongside the road. The venue has since then been renamed the "MasterCard Center". Shijingshan District
Shijingshan District () is an urban district of the municipality of Beijing. It lies to the west of the urban core of Beijing, and is part of the Western Hills area, bordering the districts of Haidian to the northeast and east, Fengtai to the south, and Mentougou to the west. The district consists of 9 subdistricts of Beijing's city proper. Although the hills around Yunju Temple may also be called ''Shijingshan'', they have Chinese characters different from those of the district and hence are unrelated to Shijingshan ''District''. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Line 1 of the Beijing Subway () is the oldest and one of the busiest lines of Beijing's mass transit rail network. Line 1 runs underneath Chang'an Avenue, the city's grand east–west thoroughfare, right through the heart of Beijing with stops on either side of Tiananmen Square. Line 1's color is red.
