Yulia Laputina
Yulia Anatoliyivna Laputina ( uk, Юлія Анатоліївна Лапутіна; born 1967) is a Ukrainian politician who has served as Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine in the Shmyhal Government since December 2020. Career In 1988, Laputina graduated from the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport with a teacher and trainer diploma. In 1996, she graduated in law from the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kyiv. She obtained the degree of candidate of sciences in the field of psychology. She was a researcher at one of the research institutes, in 1992 she became an officer of the Security Service of Ukraine. She held managerial positions in the SBU structure, she was responsible, inter alia, counterintelligence. During the war in Donbas, she led a task force for the service within the ATO (anti-terrorist operation). In March 2020, Laputina was promoted to the rank of major general of the SBU. The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC; uk, Рада національної безпеки і оборони України, RNBO or RNBOU) is the coordinating state body of the executive power under the President of Ukraine on issues of national security and defense. It is a state agency tasked with developing and coordinating a policy of national security on domestic and international matters in advising the President of Ukraine (currently Volodymyr Zelensky). All the sessions of the council take place in the Presidential Administration Building. The Security Service of Ukraine ( uk, Служба безпеки України, translit=Sluzhba bezpeky Ukrainy}) or SBU ( uk, СБУ, link=no) is the law enforcement authority and main intelligence and security agency of the Ukrainian government, in the areas of counter-intelligence activity and combating terrorism.
