Yulchon-myeon (), also called Yulchon Township, or shortly Yulchon, is a myeon (township) in Yeosu city of South Jeolla Province, South Korea. The myeon is located in the north-western part of the city. The total area of Yulchon-myeon is 46.5 square kilometers, and, as of the last day of 2010, the population was 7404 people. It has Yeosu Airport in Sinpung-ri. Township hall is located in Johwa-ri. Sora-myeon is to the south and Haeryong-myeon, Suncheon to the north, Gwangyang-eup, Gwangyang is to the north-east, Suncheon Bay and Yeoja Bay to the west, and Gwangyang Bay is to the east. Sora-myeon
Sora-myeon (), also called as Sora Township, or shortly Sora, is a myeon (township) in Yeosu city of South Jeolla Province, South Korea. The myeon is located in center-western part of the city. The total area of the myeon is 60.5 square kilometres, and, as of the last day of 2010, the population was 12256 people, 5195 houses. Haeryong-myeon
Haeryong-myeon (), also called Haeryong Township, or Haeryong for short, is a myeon (township) in Suncheon, a city in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. The township is located in the south-eastern part of the city with a total area of . As of the last day of the year 2016, the population was recorded to be 46,994 people and the number of houses totaled 16,204. It is the myeon with the largest population in South Korea. The myeon office is located in 1228-10, Haeryong-ro in Woljeon-ri. Expo-daero() is the road connecting Dolsan Intersection in Dolsan-eup, Yeosu, South Jeolla and Seongsangyo in Haeryong-myeon, Suncheon, South Jeolla. The all section is part of National Route 17, and from Deogyang Intersection to end of road is part of Local Route 22. This road was opened to traffic on 12 April 2012 for Expo 2012. Jeolla Line
The Jeolla Line is a railway line in North and South Jeolla Provinces in South Korea. The line is served by frequent passenger trains from Seoul (via the Gyeongbu and Honam Lines) to Yeosu. History The first railway along a section of what became the Jeolla Line was the Zenboku Lightrail Line, a narrow gauge line from Riri to Zenshu opened by the privately owned Zenboku Light Railway on 12 November 1917. In 1927, the line was nationalised, and the Chosen Government Railway (''Sentetsu'') soon set to converting the line to standard gauge; this work was begun on 18 April 1929 and completed later that year. Sentetsu then extended the line, completing the Jeonju–Namwon section in October 1931, the Namwon–Gokseong section in October 1933, and finally the Gokseong–Suncheon section on 16 December 1936. Gwangyang () is a city in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. Gwangyang city is the home of POSCO's Gwangyang Steel Works, the largest facility of its kind in the world. The city is also home to K League Classic football side Jeonnam Dragons. Gwangyang is at the centre of development for the Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone (GFEZ), the third-largest among the six free economic zones of South Korea, covering 92.7 square kilometers. Suncheon Bay
Located in Suncheon, Jeonnam in South Korea, Suncheon Bay is a coastal wetland, composed of a long stream, a wide tideland and a wide field of reeds. Due to its natural coast, it is the habitat of migratory birds and plants and animals. It is the first Korean coastal wetland, Suncheon Bay Ecological Park, to be registered on the list of The Ramsar Wetland on January 20, 2006. Characteristics Suncheon Bay's wide tideland, field of reeds, and salt swamp have their natural scenes undamaged. Suncheon
Suncheon () (''Suncheon-si'') is a city in South Jeolla Province, South Korea. It is a scenic agricultural and industrial city of around 250,000 people near Suncheon Bay. It is located in the southeastern corner of Jeollanam-do, just over an hour south-east of Gwangju. Forty minutes south of Suncheon is the port city of Yeosu, and twenty minutes to the east of Suncheon is Gwangyang. It is currently experiencing strong development due to being included as part of the ''Gwangyang Bay Free Economic Zone'', one of three newly created Free Economic Zones (FEZs) in South Korea due to open within the next decade.
