Larisa Valeriïvna Griga ( uk, Лариса Валеріївна Грига Larysa Valeriivna Hryha; born 31 May 1984) is a badminton player from Ukraine. She was the gold medalist at the 2003 European Junior Championships in the girls' singles event. She competed at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. Career She played at the 2005 IBF World Championships in Anaheim and reached the second round (lost to 2nd seed Xie Xingfang of China). As a part of the BC Amersfoort team, Griga reached the final of the European Cup 2007 held in Amersfoort. She claimed titles in the mixed doubles with Dechapol Puavaranukroh at the 2017 Southeast Asian Games and at the 2021 World Championships. Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
