Yuhanon Mor Militos
Mor Militos Yuhanon is a Syriac Orthodox bishop in Malankara. He is the Metropolitan of Thumpamon and Patriarchal Vicar of Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. Early years Yuhanon was born on 25 April 1957 to Rev.E.O.Thomas Cor-Episcopus and Thankamma in Elavinamannil family, Omallur, Pathanamthitta. St.Stephen's Syriac Orthodox Church, Manjinikkara was his parish. Education Yuhanon took his U. G. and P. G. from Kerala University, in History. His basic theological education is from Mor Ignatius Dayro Manjinikkara. Later he joined Serampore University as an external student and obtained Bachelor of Christian Studies (BCS) degree. Priesthood On 14 September 1976, at the age of 19, Yuhanon was ordained deacon by Catholicose Mor Baselios Paulose II. He was ordained Dn. E. T. John, Elavinamannil as Kassiso on 5 December 1982. His Grace or Her Grace is an English Style (manner of address), style used for various high-ranking personages. It was the style used to address English monarchs until Henry VIII and the Scottish monarchs up to the Act of Union (1707), Act of Union of 1707, which united the Kingdom of Scotland and the Kingdom of England. Mor Ignatius Dayro Manjinikkara
Manjanikkara Dayara is a monastery of the Syriac Orthodox Church. It is situated at the top of the hillock in Manjanikkara, near Omallur, Pathanamthitta District, in South Kerala, India. The monastery was established by Mor Yulios Elias Qoro, Patriarchal delegate to the Malankara Church. The Manjanikkara Dayro is the seat of the Patriarchal Delegate to Malankara and the metropolitan of the Simhasana churches (churches administered directly by the Patriarchate). History On 11 February 1932, at the invitation of Kashisho Kuriakos Elavinamannil, the Patriarch Ignatius Elias III arrived at the Manjinikara Mor Stephanos church from Kallissery. On arriving at Manjinikara, the Patriarch said, "This place offers us much comfort; we desire to remain here permanently." He died there on 13 February. Ignatius Zakka I Iwas ( syr, ܐܝܓܢܐܛܝܘܣ ܙܟܝ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܥܝܘܐܨ; ar, إغناطيوس زكا الأول عيواص; ', born Sanharib Iwas, 21 April 1931 – 21 March 2014) was the 122nd reigning Syriac Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East and, as such, Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church.
