Yugoslavia Fed Cup Team
The Yugoslavia Fed Cup team represented Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, SFR Yugoslavia in Fed Cup tennis competition and was governed by the Yugoslav Tennis Association. With the dissolution of Yugoslavia, the team no longer exists. 1969 Federation Cup (tennis)
The 1969 Federation Cup was the seventh edition of what is now known as the Fed Cup. 20 nations participated in the tournament, which was held at the Athens Tennis Club in Athens, Greece from 19 to 25 May. United States defeated Australia in the final, in what was the fourth final featuring both teams. 1984 Federation Cup (tennis)
The 1984 Federation Cup was the 22nd edition of the most important competition between national teams in women's tennis. The tournament was held at the Esporte Clube Pinheiros in São Paulo, Brazil, from 15 to 22 July. Czechoslovakia successfully defended their title, defeating Australia in the final. Sabrina Goleš
Sabrina Goleš (born 3 June 1965) is a former Croatian tennis player who competed for SFR Yugoslavia. Biography Sabrina Goleš was ranked no. 3 among juniors in the world in 1983 (in the juniors, she won the Italian Open and Rolex Port Washington, reached the semifinals at Roland Garros and the Orange Bowl, and the quarterfinals at the US Open). Goleš competed for SFR Yugoslavia at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, where she made it to the finals, losing 6–1, 3–6, 4–6 to Steffi Graf. The same year, Goleš was part of the Yugoslav team that reached the Federation Cup semifinals. In 1987, Goleš won the WTA tournament in Paris and four titles in doubles. She also competed in 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul where she beat Arantxa Sánchez Vicario. Dragana Zarić
Dragana Zarić-Martinov(Serbian Cyrillic: Драгана Зарић-Мартинов, born 1 August 1977) is a Serbian former professional tennis player. Her career-high rankings are No. 157 in singles, achieved in spring of 2001, and No. 82 in doubles, reached in summer of 2002. She won four titles in singles and 24 in doubles in ITF tournaments. She also played for the Yugoslavia Fed Cup team, from 1995 until 2005. Zarić started her professional career in 1994, and in 1995, she won her first ITF title in Nicosia, Cyprus. Katarina Mišić (Serbian Cyrillic: Катарина Мишић, born 5 February 1976) is a Serbian tennis coach and former professional tennis player. Renata Šašak
Renata Šašak-Ružir (born 14 June 1964) is a former Yugoslavian professional tennis player. Biography Born in Zagreb, Šašak debuted for the Yugoslavia Federation Cup team in 1979. One of her Federation Cup doubles teammates was Mima Jaušovec, who Šašak teamed up with to win a gold medal at the 1979 Mediterranean Games. She won a further gold medal four years in Casablanca at the 1983 Mediterranean Games, beating Laura Golarsa to win the women's singles. Šašak competed in the main draw of both the French Open and US Open during her career. Her best performance came at the 1983 French Open, where she made it to the second round, then took fifth seed Pam Shriver to a third set before being eliminated. She was awarded the Croatian Sportswoman of the Year award from Sportske novosti in 1983. The Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, commonly referred to as SFR Yugoslavia or simply as Yugoslavia, was a country in Central and Southeast Europe. The Billie Jean King Cup (or the BJK Cup) is the premier international team competition in women's tennis, launched as the Federation Cup in 1963 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
