KK Crvena Zvezda
Košarkaški klub Crvena zvezda ( sr-cyrl, Кошаркашки клуб Црвена звезда, ), commonly referred to as KK Crvena zvezda mts for sponsorship reasons or simply Crvena zvezda, is a men's professional basketball Sports club, club based in Belgrade, Serbia and the major part of the SD Crvena Zvezda, Red Star multi-sports club. The club is a founding member and shareholder of the ABA League JTD, Adriatic Basketball Association, and competes in the Basketball League of Serbia, Serbian League (KLS), the ABA League, and the top-tier Europe-wide EuroLeague. Đorđe Konjović
Đorđe Konjović ( sr-cyr, Ђорђе Коњовић; born 2 January 1931) is a Serbian retired basketball player. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Playing career During his playing career in the 1950s, Konjović was on Belgrade-based teams Crvena zvezda and Partizan of the Yugoslav Federal League and two of the biggest and most popular clubs in Serbia. He is one of eight players who recorded at least 30 points in the Crvena zvezda–Partizan derbies for both teams. Konjović won three Yugoslav Championships with the Zvezda team coached by Nebojša Popović. During this stint he played with Milan Bjegojević, Đorđe Andrijašević, Ladislav Demšar, Srđan Kalember, and Borislav Ćurčić. Nebojša Popović
Nebojša Popović ( sr-cyr, Небојша Поповић; 8 February 1923 – 20 October 2001) was a Serbian basketball player, coach and administrator. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. He is the basketball legend of Red Star Belgrade. In 2007, he was enshrined as a contributor in the FIBA Hall of Fame. Early life Popović lived with his family in Rijeka, where he played water polo as a goalkeeper. He learned about basketball from the Yugoslav water polo and a basketball pioneer Božo Grkinić. Obren Popović ( sr-cyr, Обрен Поповић) was a Serbian basketball player. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Playing career Popović played for a Belgrade-based team Crvena zvezda of the Yugoslav First League during 1950s. He won 3 Yugoslav Championships. Dragan Godžić ( sr-cyr, Драган Гоџић; 14 April 1927 – 23 June 1988) was a Serbian basketball player and coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Borivoje "Borko" Jovanović ( sr-cyr, Боривоје "Борко" Јовановић) was a Serbian basketball player. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Playing career Jovanović played for a Belgrade-based team Crvena zvezda of the Yugoslav First League during 1950s. Milan Bjegojević
Milan "Musa" Bjegojević ( sr-cyr, Милан "Муса" Bjegojević; August 9, 1928 – October 2, 2003) was a Serbian basketball player and coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Best known for many years of playing at Crvena Zvezda. In the red-and-whites was from 1947 to 1955, played 113 competitive games and scored 786 points. In all nine seasons with the Red Star became nine consecutive times champion of Yugoslavia. Đorđe Andrijašević ( sr-cyr, Ђорђе Андријашевић; born 5 May 1931), credited as Giorgio Andrijassevic in Italy, is a Serbian professional basketball former player and former coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. He was the first coach to use full-court press technique in Europe. Playing career Andrijašević played for Crvena zvezda from 1950 to 1956. During that time he won six Yugoslav Championships. Ladislav Demšar ( sr-Cyrl, Ладислав Демшар; March 3, 1928 – May 15, 1992) was a Yugoslav basketball player and coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Playing career Demšar played for Egység from Novi Sad and Crvena zvezda from Belgrade. He missed entire 1953 season. Borislav Ćurčić ( sr-cyr, Борислав Ћурчић; January 27, 1932 – April 15, 2015) was a Serbian basketball player and coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Early life Born in the village of Podum near Otočac (nowadays in Croatia), in addition to basketball, Ćurčić also pursued skiing.
