Yu Hao (politician)
Yu Hao (born 11 September 1983) is a Taiwanese politician. He served on the Nantou County Council from 2018 to 2024, when he was elected to the Legislative Yuan. Early life and education Yu Hao is a son of a police officer, raised in a single-parent household. 2022 Taiwanese Local Elections
Local elections will be held in Taiwan on 26 November 2022 to elect county magistrates (city mayors), county (city) councilors, township mayors, township councilors and chiefs of village (borough) in 6 municipalities and 16 counties (cities). Elected officials would serve a four-year term. Background The Democratic Progressive Party announced in November 2021 that, prior to the 2022 elections, the party's chairperson would select candidates for mayoral posts in the Special municipality (Taiwan), special municipalities. Candidates would then be subject to approval by the party's central executive committee. Localities in which DPP-affiliated incumbents were ineligible for a third consecutive term will hold party primaries. The COVID-19 pandemic in Taiwan is part of the COVID-19 pandemic, worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 () caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (). As of 18 December 2022, 28,928,047 tests had been conducted in Taiwan, of which 8,578,053 are confirmed cases, including 14,890 deaths. Pan-Green Coalition
The pan-Green coalition, pan-Green force or pan-Green groups is a nationalist political coalition in Taiwan (Republic of China), consisting of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), Taiwan Statebuilding Party (TSP), Taiwan Solidarity Union (TSU), Social Democratic Party (SDP), Green Party Taiwan, and Taiwan Constitution Association (TCA). The platform of the New Power Party is also very closely aligned with all the other Pan-Green parties. Hsu Shu-hua
Hsu Shu-hua (; born 15 October 1975) is a Taiwanese politician, serving as a legislator representing Nantou County as a Kuomintang (KMT) member. Another Taiwanese politician also named Hsu Shu-hua is a Taipei City Councilor, representing the Democratic Progressive Party. Education Hsu earned a master's degree in management from Feng Chia University. Political career Hsu was elected to the Nantou County Council in 2002, and became mayor of Nantou City in 2006. While mayor of Nantou, she was elected to the Kuomintang Central Standing Committee in 2011. She served as mayor until 2014, and was named a representative to the Legislative Yuan in a by-election, taking office on 16 February 2015. Democratic Progressive Party
The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is a Taiwanese nationalist and centre-left political party in the Republic of China (Taiwan). Controlling both the Republic of China presidency and the unicameral Legislative Yuan, it is the majority ruling party and the dominant party in the Pan-Green Coalition as of 2022. Founded in 1986 by Hsu Hsin-liang, Hsieh Tsung-min and Lin Shui-chuan, a year prior to the end of martial law, the DPP is one of two major parties in Taiwan, the other being the historically dominant Kuomintang (KMT), which previously ruled the country as a one-party state.
