Yset
Yset or Kvikne is a village in Tynset Municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. The mountain village is located near the mountain pass that lies between the large Østerdalen valley and Trøndelag county. The village is located along the Orkla River at the confluence with the Ya River about southeast of the village of Innset and about northwest of the village of Tynset. Norwegian National Road 3 passes through the village. The old dam construction for the Eidsfossen Hydroelectric Power Station can be seen from National Road 3 about south of Yset. The Norwegian author Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson was born at the Bjørgan parsonage in Kvikne. Ya (river)
The Ya is a river in the municipality of Tynset in Innlandet county, Norway. The river starts as the confluence of the ''Nordya'' (North Ya) and ''Storya'' (Big Ya) north of the Grøntjørnan farm. The ''Midtya'' (Middle Ya) is a higher tributary of the ''Nordya''. The largest source of the Ya is '' Falningsjøen'' (Lake Falning, elevation ) via the tributary Falninga; the lake is used as a reservoir for the Ulset Hydroelectric Power Station. Eidsfossen Hydroelectric Power Station
The Eidsfossen Hydroelectric Power Station (or ''Eidsfossen kraftstasjon'') is a decommissioned hydroelectric power station in the municipality of Tynset in Innlandet county, Norway. The power station is located in the Kvikne Forest (''Kvikneskogen''). It utilized a drop of on the Orkla River. The power plant was built to supply electricity to the Røstvangen Mines and built from 1915 to 1917, when it became operational. The plant was decommissioned in 1999. Bjørgan Parsonage
The Bjørgan parsonage ( no, Bjørgan prestegård) is a museum and former parsonage in Kvikne in the northern part of the municipality of Tynset in Innlandet county, Norway. It is where the writer Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson (1832–1910) was born and lived during his early childhood, from 1832 to 1837, while his father was the parish priest at Kvikne (1831–1837). The house was built in 1780 and it was used as a parsonage until 1860. In 1917, the teacher Tilla Valstad discovered that the main building was going to be demolished. She started a collection with the goal of making the place into a museum for Bjørnson, and in 1919 the farm was transferred to the state as a gift. In 1932, a memorial to Bjørnson was unveiled at Bjørgan, and the old building contains many items from Bjørnson's time. Bjørnstjerne Martinius Bjørnson ( , ; 8 December 1832 – 26 April 1910) was a Norwegian writer who received the 1903 Nobel Prize in Literature "as a tribute to his noble, magnificent and versatile poetry, which has always been distinguished by both the freshness of its inspiration and the rare purity of its spirit". Norwegian National Road 3 ( no, Riksvei 3, Rv3) is a Norwegian national road that is the main route through the Østerdalen district in Eastern Norway. It has been dubbed which means 'the green shortcut' by the old Hedmark County Municipality. The route runs south from European Route E6 at Ulsberg in the municipality of Rennebu in Trøndelag county, via Tynset and Elverum, to Stange in Innlandet county, where it rejoins European Route E6. The route was long, of which are in Innlandet county and are in Trøndelag county. National Road 3 is the route most used for transport between Oslo and Trondheim, carrying approximately 90% of heavy traffic and most of the passenger car traffic between the two cities.
