Yours Sincerely (The Pasadenas Album)
''Yours Sincerely'' is the third album by British R&B/pop group The Pasadenas, released in 1992 by Columbia Records. It contains re-recordings of songs by other artists that the band were fans of and had provided inspiration for them, including a cover of New York City's 1973 hit single, " I'm Doing Fine Now", which reached number four in the UK Singles Chart, becoming The Pasadenas' highest-placing single on that chart. The album also includes three further singles which reached the UK chart: a cover of the Bread hit "Make It with You" (No. 20), "I Believe in Miracles" (No. 34) and "Moving in the Right Direction" (No. 49). The Pasadenas
The Pasadenas were an English R&B/pop group. They had two UK top 10 albums and eight UK top 40 hit singles, including " Tribute (Right On)" (1988), "Riding on a Train" (1988) and " I'm Doing Fine Now" (1992). Career The group scored a UK number five hit, and topped the charts in the Netherlands in 1988 with their initial release, " Tribute (Right On)", which paid homage to soul musicians Diana Ross & the Supremes and Aretha Franklin. Their second single "Riding on a Train" would peak at number 13 in the UK singles chart. Both singles were taken from their debut album ''To Whom It May Concern'', released in October 1988, an album which would peak at number 3 in the United Kingdom and which would go on to sell more than one million copies. Steve Arrington
Steven Ralph Arrington (born March 5, 1956) is an American singer, songwriter, drummer, record producer, engineer and minister, who grew up in Dayton, Ohio. Biography Arrington played in various local bands before joining and touring with The Murphys, a lounge band out of Toledo, Ohio, in 1975. About a year later Arrington relocated from Ohio to San Francisco, California where he learned Latin percussion and drumming as well as playing with Coke Escovedo, Pete Escovedo and Sheila E. He joined the funk group Slave (founded 1975) on their third LP, called '' The Concept'', in 1978 – originally to play percussion, then later becoming the drummer and a backing vocalist. The Jackson Sisters
The Jackson Sisters (not to be confused with the Cincinnati Jackson Sisters, nor the siblings to American soul group The Jackson Five) were an American soul and disco family group in the 1970s, formed in 1971. The group hailed from Compton, California but were based in Detroit, Michigan. History The Jackson Sisters were Jacqueline Jackson-Rencher, Lyn Jackson, Pat(Olivia) Jackson, Rae Jackson and Gennie Jackson. They recorded material for the Prophasy Records label, obtaining some modest success in the 1970s. "Waiting in Vain" is a song written by reggae musician Bob Marley and recorded by Bob Marley & The Wailers, for his 1977 album '' Exodus''. Released as a single, it hit number twenty-seven in the UK Singles Chart. The single was one of only a few of Marley's Island singles to feature a non-album B-Side, this being the song "Roots", an outtake from the ''Rastaman Vibration'' sessions. This later appeared on the compilation '' Rebel Music'' and on '' Exodus (Deluxe Edition)''. The 1981 reissue of Waiting in Vain featured a megamix called ''Marley Mix Up Medley'' instead. "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1967 album '' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band''. It was written primarily by John Lennon and credited to the Lennon–McCartney songwriting partnership. Lennon's son Julian inspired the song with a nursery school drawing that he called "Lucy – in the sky with diamonds". Shortly before the album's release, speculation arose that the first letter of each of the nouns in the title intentionally spelled "LSD", the initialism commonly used for the hallucinogenic drug lysergic acid diethylamide.
