Young Meretz
Young Meretz ( he, צעירי מרצ, ''Tzeiri Meretz'') is the young adult wing of the Israeli political party Meretz. All members of Meretz aged 18–35 are automatically members of YM. Additionally, YM activates student groups in university and college campuses throughout Israel, where the activists are not necessarily registered members of the mother party. YMY is subject to the guidelines and statutes of the mother party, but also enjoy a substantial extent of autonomy. For example, it is not bound by coalition agreements. YM is committed to issues that include reaching a peaceful solution to the Arab–Israeli conflict based on a two-state solution through negotiation such as The Geneva Initiative, social justice, human rights, gender equality, minority rights, separation of religion and state, elimination of corruption, environmental justice and viable development. The International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY) is an international organization, founded in 1907, whose activities include publications, support of member organizations and the organization of meetings. It was formed as the youth wing of the Second International under the name Socialist Youth International at the International Socialist Congress, Stuttgart 1907. IUSY now has 145 member organisations - including 122 full members and 23 observer members - from 106 countries. IUSY gained status as an international youth NGO with UN ECOSOC consultative status in 1993. Young European Socialists (YES), formerly the European Community Organisation of Socialist Youth (ECOSY), is an association of social democratic youth organisations in Europe and the European Union. YES is the youth organisation of the Party of European Socialists (PES) and is a sister organization of the International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY). The seat of the organisation is Brussels. Full members status is held to the European Youth Forum (YFJ) which operates within the Council of Europe and European Union areas and works closely with both these bodies. Meretz
Meretz ( he, מֶרֶצ, ) is a left-wing political party in Israel. The party was formed in 1992 by the merger of Ratz, Mapam and Shinui, and was at its peak between 1992 and 1996 when it had 12 seats. It currently has no seats in the Knesset, following its failure to pass the electoral threshold in the 2022 elections. Meretz is a social-democratic and secular party emphasising a two-state solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, social justice, human rights (especially for religious, ethnic and sexual minorities), religious freedom and environmentalism. Two-state Solution
The two-state solution to the Israeli–Palestinian conflict envisions an independent State of Palestine alongside the State of Israel, west of the Jordan River. The boundary between the two states is still subject to dispute and negotiation, with Palestinian and Arab leadership insisting on the "1967 borders", which is not accepted by Israel.
