William Quantrill
William Clarke Quantrill (July 31, 1837 – June 6, 1865) was a Confederate guerrilla leader during the American Civil War. Having endured a tempestuous childhood before later becoming a schoolteacher, Quantrill joined a group of bandits who roamed the Missouri and Kansas countryside to apprehend escaped slaves. Later, the group became Confederate soldiers, who were referred to as "Quantrill's Raiders". It was a pro-Confederate partisan ranger outfit that was best known for its often brutal guerrilla tactics. Also notable is that the group included the young Jesse James and his older brother Frank James. Quantrill is often noted as influential in the minds of many bandits, outlaws and hired guns of the Old West as it was being settled. Ollie O'Toole (1912–1992) was an American film and television actor.Pitts p.227 Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US. He was an actor, comedian and impressionist with Horace Heidt and later known for his acting in "The Oregon Trail" in 1959, "Mission Impossible" in 1996 and "One of Our Spies is Missing" in 1966. He was married to Mildred L O'Toole. He died on February 25, 1992, at the age of 79 in Los Angeles, California, US. Britt Lomond
Britt Lomond (April 12, 1925 – March 22, 2006) was an American actor and television producer. Also credited as Glase Lohman. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Lomond was raised in New York City. He received three Purple Hearts, a Silver Star, and a Bronze Star for his military service as an Army paratrooper during World War II. He was a student at New York University after the war. Lomond was active with NYU's fencing team, and he earned a place on the United States' fencing team for the 1952 Olympics. Instead of going that route, he began fencing as a professional in productions on stage and in films. In 1956, Lomond played the Spaniard James Addison Reavis in the episode "The Baron of Arizona" of the anthology series, ''Death Valley Days'', hosted by Stanley Andrews. Jim Younger
James Hardin Younger (January 15, 1848 – October 19, 1902) was a notable American outlaw and member of the James–Younger Gang. He was the brother of Cole, John and Bob Younger Life Born in Missouri on January 15, 1848. Jim Younger was the ninth of fourteen children born to Henry Washington Younger and Bersheba Leighton Fristoe. With his brother Cole, he joined the Confederate Army during the American Civil War, eventually becoming a member of Quantrill's Raiders in 1864. Jim was later captured by Union troops, in the same ambush that resulted in William Quantrill's death, and was imprisoned until the war's end. After the war Jim tried his hand at various activities, including starting a horse ranch. In 1873 he joined the James–Younger Gang, which was founded by Cole, along with Frank and Jesse James. Zerelda Elizabeth Cole James Simms Samuel (January 29, 1825 – February 10, 1911) was the mother of outlaws Frank James and Jesse James. Biography Cole was born in Woodford County, Kentucky, on January 29 to parents James and Sarah Lindsay Cole. She had one brother, younger than her by one year, named Jesse Richard Cole. Robert Ewing Younger (October 29, 1853 – September 16, 1889) was an American criminal and outlaw, the younger brother of Cole, Jim and John Younger. He was a member of the James–Younger Gang. Life Born in Missouri on October 29, 1853, Robert was the thirteenth of fourteen children born to Henry Washington Younger and Bersheba Leighton Fristoe.
