Young Avengers
The Young Avengers are the names of two fictional superhero teams appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The first team, created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung, features numerous adolescent characters who typically have connections to established members of Marvel's primary superhero team, the Avengers. The Young Avengers were originally featured in a twelve issue run, later appearing in several notable Marvel crossover series, including the ''Civil War'' and '' The Children's Crusade'' events, before the series was relaunched in January 2013 as part of the Marvel NOW! rebranding by writer Kieron Gillen and artist Jamie McKelvie. The original series won the 2006 GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Comic Book and the 2006 Harvey Award for Best New Series. Jim Cheung
Jim Cheung (; born 1972) is a British comic book artist, known for his work on the series such as ''Scion (comics), Scion'', ''New Avengers: Illuminati'', ''Young Avengers'' and ''Avengers: The Children's Crusade''. Career Cheung worked on several Marvel series during the mid- to late 1990s. He also worked on ''Scion (comics), Scion'' for Crossgen Comics in the early 2000s. He later returned to Marvel, where he illustrated the five-issue ''New Avengers: Illuminati'' mini-series for Marvel Comics, and then pencilled two more issues of ''New Avengers''. He was named in August 2005 as one of Marvel's "Young Guns", a group of artists that, according to Marvel Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada, have the qualities that make "a future superstar penciller". Avengers (comics)
The Avengers are a team of superheroes appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The team made its debut in '' The Avengers'' #1 (cover-dated Sept. 1963), created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist/co-plotter Jack Kirby. Labeled "Earth's Mightiest Heroes", the original Avengers consisted of Iron Man, Ant-Man, Hulk, Thor and the Wasp. Captain America was discovered trapped in ice in issue #4, and joined the group after they revived him. The Vision is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Avengers Disassembled
"Avengers Disassembled" is a 2004 crossover storyline published by Marvel Comics involving the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Captain America, Spider-Man and Thor. The beginning of Brian Michael Bendis's ''Avengers'' run, it depicts the destruction of the existing traditional roster and the exile of several key members of the team. The 25th GLAAD Media Awards was the 2014 annual presentation of the GLAAD Media Awards, presented by GLAAD honoring the 2013 season. The awards honored films, television shows, musicians and works of journalism that fairly and accurately represent the LGBT community and issues relevant to the community. Harvey Award
The Harvey Awards are given for achievement in comic books. Named for writer-artist Harvey Kurtzman, the Harvey Awards were founded by Gary Groth in 1988, president of the publisher Fantagraphics, to be the successor to the Kirby Awards that were discontinued in 1987. The Harvey Awards are now nominated by the Harvey Awards Nomination Committee. The winners are selected by an open vote among comic-book professionals. GLAAD Media Awards
The GLAAD Media Award is an accolade bestowed by GLAAD to recognize and honor various branches of the media for their outstanding representations of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and the issues that affect their lives. Jamie McKelvie is a cartoonist and illustrator, known for his both work on books such as ''Phonogram'', ''Young Avengers'' and ''The Wicked + The Divine'', and his approach to comic character design.
