Young And Dangerous (series)
The ''Young and Dangerous'' film series () is a collection of Hong Kong films about a group of triad young members, detailing their adventures, dangers and growth in a Hong Kong triad society. The series is based on a popular comic book series known as "Teddy Boy". The series contributed a lot to the public image of triads and was condemned by certain quarters as glorifying secret triad societies. However, it was immensely popular in Hong Kong and spun 9 sequels and spin-offs. Its main actors and actresses have also become major stars in their own right. Andrew Lau served as cinematographer and director for parts 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 as well as the spinoff ''Born to Be King'' and the prequel film, with radio personality Manfred Wong writing scripts for the ongoing franchise. Kristy Yang
Kristy Yang (born 7 January 1974), also known as Yang Gongru, is a Chinese-born Canadian actress based in Hong Kong. Early life Yang was born in Shanghai, China, to a Chinese father and Jenny Liu, a half American-half Chinese. Ms.Liu was invited to play the role in the film Shanghai 1976 (2008) and she has just known her father was an American soldier. Ms.Liu's mother had just a photo of him but in the end it's also burned in war. Kristy grew up in a single-family as her father left the family during her childhood. In 1985, Yang immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has a step-brother who was born in Canada. ''Born to Be King'' () is a 2000 Hong Kong crime film directed by Andrew Lau. It is very final and last sequel to the ''Young and Dangerous'' film series. Synopsis Chicken ( Jordan Chan) is set to marry the daughter of a Japanese yakuza boss (Sonny Chiba). When Chicken is set up, his old pals return to clear his name. Danny Pang Phat and Oxide Pang Chun, collectively known as the Pang Brothers, are a filmmaking duo of screenwriters and film directors. The pair are twins, born in Hong Kong in 1965. Ken Lo (Kenneth Houi Kang Low) (born 19 March 1957) is a Hong Kong actor, martial artist, and stuntman. He is known for his martial arts and stunt work as a former member of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team, most notably for his antagonistic role as John in ''Drunken Master II'' (1994). Early life Ken Lo was born on 19 March 1957 as Kenneth Lo Wai-Kwong in Stung Treng, Cambodia. Lo's father is Hong Kong- Chinese and his mother is a Laotian.
