"You Weren't There" is a song by Norwegian singer-songwriter Lene Marlin. Written by Marlin and produced by Mike Hodges, the song was released as the first single from Marlin's sophomore studio album, ''Another Day'' (2003). The song premiered on French and Italian radio stations on 18 July 2003 and was serviced to European and Asian radio the following week, eventually receiving a single release on 5 September 2003. Lene Marlin (born Lene Marlin Pedersen; 17 August 1980) is a Norwegian musician, singer, and songwriter. Biography ''Playing My Game'' (1998–2002) Marlin was born in Tromsø, Norway. She made her Norwegian recording debut on 12 October 1998, with the single " Unforgivable Sinner", a number one hit for eight weeks. It was the fastest selling single in Norwegian music history, and appeared in the soundtrack of the Norwegian movie ''Schpaaa''. Her first album, ''Playing My Game'', followed. Richard John Parfitt, (12 October 1948 24 December 2016) was an English musician, best known as a singer, songwriter and rhythm guitarist with rock band Status Quo. Parfitt began his career in the early 1960s, playing in pubs and holiday camps. He joined Status Quo in 1967 when they were looking for an additional singer.
