''Salival'' is a live, outtake, and video album, released as a limited edition box set in Compact disc, CD/VHS and Compact disc, CD/DVD formats in 2000 by American Rock music, rock band Tool (band), Tool. It includes a 56-page book of photos and stills from their music videos. Background The live track "You Lied" is a cover version, cover of a song by bass player Justin Chancellor's previous band Peach (band), Peach. The cover of Led Zeppelin's "No Quarter (song), No Quarter" was originally planned to be used for the soundtrack to ''Private Parts: The Album, Private Parts'', but Tool subsequently decided against allowing it to be used, leading to criticism from Howard Stern, who had previously endorsed the band. Tool is an American rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in 1990, the group's line-up includes vocalist Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones and drummer Danny Carey. Justin Chancellor has been the band's bassist since 1995, replacing their original bassist Paul D'Amour. ''The Rolling Stone Album Guide'', previously known as ''The Rolling Stone Record Guide'', is a book that contains professional music reviews written and edited by staff members from ''Rolling Stone'' magazine. First edition (1979) ''The Rolling Stone Record Guide'' was the first edition of what would later become ''The Rolling Stone Album Guide''. Sober (Tool Song)
"Sober" is a song by American rock band Tool. The song was released as the first single from their debut studio album, '' Undertow''. Tool guitarist Adam Jones has stated in an interview that the song is about a friend of the band whose artistic expression only comes out when he is under the influence. "A lot of people give him shit for that," Jones explains. "If you become addicted and a junkie, well, that's your fault." Writing "Sober" is one of the earliest songs composed by Maynard James Keenan, with roots dating back to a 1987 live performance (released as ''Peace Day'' with his first band, Children of the Anachronistic Dynasty) in which the song was called "Burn About Out". The song contains some lyrics from the first verse of "Sober", with the same basic melody, although the melody is considerably faster and has an instrumental chorus. Howard Allan Stern (born January 12, 1954) is an American radio and television personality, comedian, and author. He is best known for his radio show, ''The Howard Stern Show'', which gained popularity when it was nationally syndicated on terrestrial radio from 1986 to 2005. He has broadcast on Sirius XM Radio since 2006. Stern landed his first radio jobs while at Boston University. "No Quarter" is a song by Led Zeppelin that appears on their 1973 album ''Houses of the Holy''. It was written by John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page, and Robert Plant. The song became a centerpiece at all Led Zeppelin concerts thereafter, until their final tour. It appears in both the film versions and both live album versions of ''The Song Remains the Same'', released in 1976 and expanded in 2007. Peach (band)
Peach (also known as Peach b'') were a progressive metal band from England that originally recorded between 1991 and 1994. The band was renamed Sterling in 1995, and Simon Oakes and Rob Havis later reformed as Suns of the Tundra in 2000. The original line-up consisted of Simon Oakes, Rob Havis, Ben Durling and Justin Chancellor. Peach supported the band Tool on the European leg of their tours throughout 1993–1994 after the release of '' Undertow'', and then released an album, ''Giving Birth to a Stone'', themselves. Justin Chancellor
Justin Gunnar Walter Chancellor (born 19 November 1970) is an English musician best known as the bass player for progressive metal band Tool since 1995. He was also the bassist of the band Peach. After settling in the US, along with his engagement in his musical projects, he and his wife Shelee Dykman Chancellor ran a store called Lobal Orning in Topanga, California, dedicated to music and literature "that shaped and changed" both of them. The store closed in 2008. He started M.T.Void music project with Piotr "Glaca" Mohammed from Sweet Noise. Early life Chancellor is of English and Norwegian descent. He was educated at Tonbridge School in Kent, England, where he was the bass player for a school band named Slice of Life and used to perform a cover version of Corey Hart's " Sunglasses at Night" in the dining room of his boarding house.
