Juju (singer)
(born February 14, 1976) is a Japanese jazz and jpop singer. She is represented by Sony Music Associated Records Biography She currently resides in New York City. She dreamed of being a jazz singer while growing up in Kyoto, and participated in all sorts of music-related activities. At age 18, she left for the US alone. While in New York, she was very taken with the "New York sound," including jazz, R&B, hip-hop, soul, Latin music, and house. Around 2001, Juju began to be featured in a number of works by other artists. In 2002, she provided music for the film ''Kyōki no Sakura''. In 2004, she debuted with her first single "Hikaru no Naka e". The same year, concurrent with her musical activities in New York, she started performing live in Japan. When her third single, "Kiseki o Nozomu nara", was released, it topped the USEN charts and remained on the chart for a record length of 22 weeks. Jazz
Jazz is a music genre that originated in the African-American communities of New Orleans, Louisiana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with its roots in blues and ragtime. Since the 1920s Jazz Age, it has been recognized as a major form of musical expression in traditional and popular music. Contemporary R&B
Contemporary R&B (or simply R&B) is a popular music genre that combines rhythm and blues with elements of pop, soul, funk, hip hop, and electronic music. The genre features a distinctive record production style, drum machine-backed rhythms, pitch corrected vocals, and a smooth, lush style of vocal arrangement. Electronic influences are becoming an increasing trend and the use of hip hop or dance-inspired beats are typical, although the roughness and grit inherent in hip hop may be reduced and smoothed out. ''Request'' is a cover album by Japanese recording artist Juju, released on September 29, 2010. The album features recordings of famous songs by Japanese female vocalists, mostly from the late 1990s. Conception The album was originally titled ''Juju Sings Beautiful Woman''. After the album's announcement on August 4, a questionnaire was put up on Juju's website, asking fans which songs they wanted to hear Juju cover. Despite this, four songs had already been chosen for the album, " Gips," " Hello, Again (Mukashi Kara Aru Basho)," "Last Kiss" and " Time Goes By." The album is Juju's second disc of covers, after the ''She Sings...'' second disc of her previous album '' Juju'', which featured primarily covers of Western songs in English. It was used as the theme song of the Miho Kanno and Hiroshi Tamaki starring drama '' Guilty: Akuma to Keiyaku Shita Onna( )'', and was released on November 17, 2010. The song was commercially successful, receiving a triple platinum certification for ringtones, a double platinum certification for full-length cellphone downloads, and a gold certification for physical shipping. Seiji Kameda
is a Japanese music producer, arranger and bass guitarist. He has worked extensively with Ringo Shiina, serving as her producer and touring bassist for many years, including his tenure with their band Tokyo Jihen from 2005 to 2012. Biography He was born in New York City but moved to Japan when he was one. He started piano classes with his elder sister when he was 3 years old. In 1970 he moved to Osaka. One year later he joined Chisato Elementary School. He began to study classical guitar in 1975 with his elder brother. In 1976 Kameda moved to Tokyo. He developed a hobby of trying to intercept radio signals from across the ocean, using an instrument called ''BCL'' (Broadcast Communications Limited), to hear western-style music.
