Yorkville is a neighbourhood and former village in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It is roughly bounded by Bloor Street to the south, Davenport Road to the north, Yonge Street to the east and Avenue Road to the west, and it is part of The Annex neighbourhood. Established as a separate community in 1830, it was annexed into Toronto in 1883. Yorkville comprises residential areas, office space, and retail shopping. The Mink Mile shopping district on Bloor Street is located in Yorkville. Yorkville is a neighborhood located in the west end of Pottsville, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Background Yorkville begins at 16th Street and continues westward to the West Branch of the Schuylkill River and the city limits. Mahantongo Street, once home to many prominent residents of Pottsville, is also located within the neighborhood. Yorkville was incorporated as a borough on March 8, 1865, and its first burgess was Joseph Scheibelhut. Prior to its redevelopment which concluded on January 25, 2016, it was known as Hazelton Lanes. History Hazelton Lanes opened in 1976 with of retail space. It was positioned as a luxury shopping centre and attracted some prestigious retailers. The shopping complex was expanded to triple its previous size in 1988/1989. In 1991, a six-storey condominium containing 71 units was built by the same developer, situated behind the mall with the address 77 Avenue Road. Despite different entrances, the mall and condo shared utilities, the parking garage and some core services.
