Yongin City FC
Yongin City FC ( ko, 용인시청 축구단) was a South Korean association football club based in Yongin, Gyeonggi. Founded in 2010, they played in the National League, the third tier of South Korean league football. They played their home games at the Yongin Football Center. History Founded on January 1, 2010, Yongin City FC gained membership of the National League ahead of the 2010 season with the league expanding to fifteen sides. Former Pusan Daewoo Royals and South Korean international defender Jung Kwang-seok was appointed the club's inaugural manager. Debut season The club's debut match was a Second Round tie in the 2010 Korean FA Cup however they suffered a home defeat to Kwangwoon University, losing out 7–6 on penalties after the tie had finished 1–1 after extra time. The Yongin Football Center is a football Youth system, youth academy located in Yongin, South Korea. Facilities Yongin Football Center has football-specific stadium and Training ground (association football), training facilities and was built in 2003. K League Classic
The K League 1 (Hangul: K리그1) is the men's top professional football division of the South Korean football league system. The league is contested by twelve clubs. History The South Korean professional football league was founded in 1983 as the "Korean Super League", with five member clubs. The initial five clubs were Hallelujah FC, Yukong Elephants, Pohang Steelworks, Daewoo Royals, Kookmin Bank. Hallelujah FC won the inaugural title, finishing one point ahead of Daewoo Royals to lift the crown. The Super League was renamed the "Korean Professional Football League", and introduced the home and away system in 1987. It was once again renamed the "K League" in 1998. K League Challenge
The K League 2 (Hangul: K리그2) is the men's second-highest division of the South Korean football league system. It is contested between thirteen professional clubs, and operates on a system of promotion and relegation with the K League 1. History In 2011, the original K League announced a plan to begin a promotion and relegation system between the K League and a proposed second division. The K League then took steps to create the new second division, mainly with the addition of a split-system during the 2012 K-League season in which the bottom clubs are placed in a competition for safety with the last placed club being relegated to the new second division (originally it was going to be two clubs relegated but the withdrawal of Sangju Sangmu meant only one would be relegated). 2013 Korea National League
The 2013 Korea National League was the eleventh season of the Korea National League. A total of ten clubs participated in this season after four clubs were dropped out from the league. Ansan H FC (Goyang Hi FC), Suwon City (Suwon FC), and Chungju Hummel started to participate in a new professional league K League 2. Korean National Sports Festival
The Korean National Sports Festival is an annual sports competition held in South Korea. For a full week each October, about 20,000 athletes representing 16 cities and provinces throughout the country compete in about 40 separate sports. The site rotates among the major cities, including Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju and Incheon. The 2005 festival was held in Ulsan and the 2009 festival in Daejeon. Competitions are held in High School, College, and Regular Divisions. History The current annual numbering originates from the 1920 All-Korea Baseball Series and the formation of the Korean Sports Festival (조선체육회). The Japanese colonial government held a multi-sport competition in 1925, but the Korean Sports Festival first became a national multi-sport competition in 1934, with baseball, soccer, tennis, track and field, and basketball. Asan Mugunghwa Football Club was a South Korean football club based in Asan. The club's players were South Korean professional footballers who were serving their two-year military duty. Daejeon Korail FC is a South Korean football club based in Daejeon. The team currently plays in the K3 League, the third tier of South Korean football league system.
