Yogi's First Christmas
''Yogi's First Christmas'' is a 1980 animated musical television film starring Yogi Bear and produced by Hanna-Barbera which first aired in syndication through Operation Prime Time on November 22, 1980. Throughout the 1980s it was offered to U.S. television stations split up one episode per day for four days as a one-week strip syndicated program, generally showing the week of Christmas. The film was written by Willie Gilbert and directed by Ray Patterson. Two songs from ''Casper's First Christmas'' ("Comin' Up Christmas Time" and "Making A Big To-Do") were featured in this film, in new re-recorded versions. Additionally, Boo Boo's song "Hope" was previously heard in two previous Christmas specials, ''A Christmas Story'' (1972) and '' A Flintstone Christmas'' (1977). Ray Patterson (animator)
Raymond Patterson (November 23, 1911 – December 30, 2001) was an American animator, producer, and director. He was born in Hollywood, California, and was the younger brother of animator Don Patterson (animator), Don Patterson. Career Patterson's earliest works in animation were for Charles B. Mintz's Screen Gems, Krazy Kat/Screen Gems studio, where he started as an inker in 1929. He remained at Mintz for eleven years. In 1940, he moved to the Walt Disney Animation Studios, Walt Disney Studio, where he animated on ''Fantasia (1940 film), Fantasia'' and ''Dumbo'', as well as several Pluto (Disney), Pluto shorts (''Bone Trouble'' and ''Pluto's Playmate''). By 1942, he mostly worked on Donald Duck shorts such as ''Donald Gets Drafted''. Patterson left Disney in 1941 during an Disney animators' strike, animation strike. Casper's First Christmas
''Casper's First Christmas'' is a 1979 animated Christmas television special and crossover produced by Hanna-Barbera. It features Casper the Friendly Ghost and his friend Hairy Scarey from the animated series ''Casper and the Angels''. The special features guest stars Yogi Bear, Boo-Boo, Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, Quick Draw McGraw, and Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy. It aired on NBC on December 18, 1979. The theme song, "Comin' Up Christmas Time," sung by Yogi's pals was used again a year later in ''Yogi's First Christmas'', depicting a different premise in which Yogi and Boo Boo (who, being bears are supposed to be hibernating in the winter) can be seen celebrating Christmas with the other cast members. A spoiled child or spoiled brat is a derogatory term aimed at children who exhibit behavioral problems from being overindulged by their parents or other caregivers. Children and teens who are perceived as spoiled may be described as "overindulged", " grandiose", "narcissistic" or " egocentric-regressed". Snagglepuss is a Hanna-Barbera cartoon character who debuted in prototype form in 1959 and established as a studio regular by 1961. A light pink anthropomorphic cougar sporting an upturned collar, shirt cuffs, and bow tie, Snagglepuss enjoys the fine things in life and shows particular affinity for the theatre. Huckleberry "Huck" Hound is a fictional cartoon character, a blue anthropomorphic coonhound that speaks with a North Carolina Southern drawl. He first appeared in the series ''The Huckleberry Hound Show''. The cartoon was one of six TV shows to win an Emmy Award in 1960 as an "Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Children's Programming"; the first animated series to receive such an award. Most of his short films consist of Huck trying to perform jobs in different fields, ranging from policeman to dogcatcher, with results that backfire, yet usually coming out on top, either through slow persistence or sheer luck. Limited animation is a process in the overall technique of traditional animation that reuses frames of character animation. Early history The use of budget-cutting and time-saving animation measures in animation dates back to the earliest commercial animation, including cycled animations, mirror-image and symmetrical drawings, still characters, and other labor-saving methods.
