Yeshiva Boys Choir
The Yeshiva Boys Choir also known as (YBC) is a contemporary Jewish religious music boys choir. The choir is conducted by Yossi Newman, and their songs are composed, arranged and produced by Eli Gerstner. There are more than 50 children in the group. There were identical twins who sung in the group at one point, as well as a Yemenite (Temani) child. Quickly after their first album, they became well known around the Orthodox Jewish community. They went on to release many hit songs, and then toured the world putting on shows. Some of their greatest hits include "V'ohavta" (2005), "Shabichi" (2007), "Daddy Come Home" (2011), "Ah Ah Ah (Ashrei)" (2011), and "Adir" (2014). They have also found success with the Hanukkah songs "Mizmor Shir" (2011), "Shehechiyanu" (2011), and "Those Were the Nights" (2011). Today, they are beloved by many around the world. Contemporary Jewish Religious Music
For the purposes of this article, “contemporary” refers to the period from 1967 ( Israel's Six-Day War) to the present day, “Jewish” refers to the various streams and traits of Judaism practiced. Many Orthodox Jews use the term “religious” to refer to a strict adherence to Jewish law. Eliezer "Eli" Gerstner (Hebrew: ''אליעזר גרסטנר''), is an Orthodox Jewish singer, songwriter and producer. Music career Gerstner began composing songs as a teenager. He produces albums of contemporary Jewish religious music under the name "EG Productions". He launched and produces the Yeshiva Boys Choir, The Chevra, Yosis Orchestra, Tek-Noy, HighBeam subscription Menucha, and Dovid Stein. He has produced the annual HASC A Time For Music concert since HASC 29 in 2016. Personal life Gerstner was born in 1980. He is married with four children and lives in Brooklyn, New York. Temani
Yemenite Jews or Yemeni Jews or Teimanim (from ''Yehudei Teman''; ar, اليهود اليمنيون) are those Jews who live, or once lived, in Yemen, and their descendants maintaining their customs. Between June 1949 and September 1950, the overwhelming majority of Yemen's Jewish population immigrated to Israel in Operation Magic Carpet. After several waves of persecution throughout Yemen, the vast majority of Yemenite Jews now live in Israel, while smaller communities live in the United States and elsewhere. Orthodox Judaism
Orthodox Judaism is the collective term for the traditionalist and theologically conservative branches of contemporary Judaism. Hanukkah Music
Hanukkah music (or Chanukah music) ( he, שירי חנוכה) contains several songs associated with the festival of Hanukkah. Hanukkah blessings There are three Hanukkah blessings (Modern Hebrew: בְּרָכוֹת לֵחֲנֻכָּה ''Berakhot Laḥanukka'', Lit: Hanukkah blessings) that are sung for lighting the candles of the menorah. The third blessing ( shehecheyanu) is only sung on the first night. After the two or three blessings are sung, Hanerot Halalu is chanted.
