Yerakini or Gerakini ( el, Γερακινή , ) is a village in the Chalkidiki peninsula in Central Macedonia, Northern Greece. It has been the port of nearby Polygyros, the capital town of Chalkidiki, ever since its settlement. It has the largest magnesite deposits in Northern Greece. Etymology The word Γερακινή (Yerakini) comes from γερακίνα (yerakina () meaning female peregrine falcon (falcon-gentle) (from γεράκι (), from ιέραξ () falcon). There is a legend that the name came from a queen named Yerakina (Gerakina) who lived in Yerakini once. Location Yerakini lies on the gulf of Torone, between the two peninsulas of Kassandra and Sithonia, southeast of Thessaloniki. Psakoudia (Greek Ψακούδια \psaˈkoodya\), is a village of Chalkidiki (Greek Χαλκιδική]) peninsula (formerly prefecture), in Central Macedonia, of Northern Greece. This settlement belongs to the Municipality of Polygyros, and in particular to the municipal unit of Ormylia. Stagira (ancient City)
Stagira (), Stagirus (), or Stageira ( el, Στάγειρα or ) was an ancient Greek city located near the eastern coast of the peninsula of Chalkidice, which is now part of the Greek province of Central Macedonia. It is chiefly known for being the birthplace of Aristotle, the Greek philosopher and polymath, student of Plato, and teacher of Alexander the Great. Petralona ( el, Πετράλωνα) is a small locality in Chalkidiki, Macedonia, Greece. It is 6 km N-W of Triglia and 35 km S-E of Thessaloniki. Its altitude is 270 m..
