Yeimer Mosquera
Geiner Alonso Mosquera Becerra (born January 8, 1984, in Chigorodó, Antioquia) is a Colombian sprinter, who specialized in the 400 metres. He won a gold medal at the 2008 Ibero-American Championships, with a time of 46.63 seconds. Playing career Mosquera represented Colombia at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where he competed for the men's 400 metres. He ran in the fifth heat against seven other athletes, including Belgium's Jonathan Borlée and United States' LaShawn Merritt, both of whom were heavy favorites in this event. LaShawn Merritt (born June 27, 1986) is an American track and field athlete who competes in sprinting events, specializing in the 400 metres. He is a former Olympic champion over the distance and his personal best of 43.65 seconds makes him the ninth fastest of all time. He was a successful junior athlete and won the 400 m gold at the 2004 World Junior Championships in Athletics, as well as setting two world junior records in the relays. He became part of the American 4×400 meter relay team and helped win the event at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships. Alleyne Jeremy Francique (born June 7, 1976) is a retired Grenadian athlete who specialized in 400 metres, his personal best being 44.47 seconds set in 2004. He is the 400m two time world indoor champion in 2004 and 2006. He won his first world-level medal in 2003, when he finished third in the first World Athletics Final in 45.25 s. He had won a 400 metres gold medal and finished fifth in 4x400 metres relay at the 2003 Central American and Caribbean Championships. The next year he won the gold medal at the World Indoor Championships, achieving the result 45.88 s.
