Yehezkel Abramsky
Yehezkel Abramsky ( he, יחזקאל אברמסקי) (7 February 1886 – 19 September 1976), also affectionately referred to as Reb Chatzkel Abramsky, was a prominent and influential Lithuanian Jewish Orthodox rabbi and scholar, born and raised in the Russian Empire, who later headed the London Beth Din rabbinical court for 17 years, before retiring to Jerusalem in 1951. Rabbinate and scholarship Yehezkel Abramsky was born in Dashkovichy, Grodno Governorate, Russian Empire (in present-day Belarus) was the third child and eldest son of Mordechai Zalman Abramsky, a local timber merchant, and his wife, Freydel Goldin of Grodno. Yehezkel Braun
Yehezkel Braun ( he, יחזקאל בראון; January 18, 1922 – August 27, 2014) was an Israeli composer. Darryl Lyman: ''Great Jews in Music''. J. D. Publishers, Middle Village, N.Y, 1986. Biography Yehezkel Braun was born in Breslau, Germany. The family moved to Mandate Palestine when he was two. He grew up surrounded by Jewish and East-Mediterranean traditional music that influenced his later compositions. Braun was a graduate of the Israel Academy of Music and held a master's degree in Classical Studies from Tel Aviv University. In 1975, Braun studied Gregorian chant with Dom Jean Claire at the Benedictine monastery of Solesmes in France. His main academic interests were traditional Jewish melodies and Gregorian chants. He lectured on these and other subjects at universities and congresses in England, France, the United States and Germany. Yehezkel Braun was Professor Emeritus at Tel Aviv University. Yehezkel Chazom ( he, יחזקאל חזום, also spelled Yehezkel Hazum; 1947 – 21 March 2023) was an Israeli footballer who played as a forward for Hapoel Tel Aviv. He competed at the 1970 FIFA World Cup, having previously played for the Israel national team during the 1966 World Cup qualifying campaign. Yehezkel Flomin (, 2 August 1935 – 16 October 2019) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Likud between 1974 and 1981. Biography Born in Jerusalem during the Mandate era, Flomin attended the Tikhon Alef high school in Tel Aviv before studying law and economics at Tel Aviv University. He became a member of the university's faculty in 1962, working there until 1969. Between 1971 and 1972 he was a member of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's faculty. A member of the Liberal Party, Flomin chaired its youth leadership and was a member of the party's directorate. Yehezkel Hen ( he, יחזקאל הן, born 1882, died 4 April 1952) was an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for Mapai between 1951 and 1952. Biography Born in Boryslav in Austria-Hungary (today in Ukraine), Hen received a religious education, before studying at a Teachers' Seminary in Kiev. He taught Hebrew in Jewish schools until they were shut down by the Yevsektsiya. He made aliyah to Mandatory Palestine in 1925, where he worked as a teacher and a supervisor for the Histadrut's educational institutions. Yehezkel Kaufmann
Yehezkel Kaufmann (Hebrew: יחזקאל קויפמן; also: Yeḥezqêl Qâufman; Yeḥezḳel Ḳoyfman; Jehezqël Kaufmann) (1889 – 9 October 1963) was an Israeli philosopher and Biblical scholar associated with the Hebrew University. His main contribution to the study of biblical religion was his thesis that Israel's monotheism was not a gradual development from paganism but entirely new. His Talmudic knowledge was acquired at the yeshiva of Rabbi Chaim Cernowitz (Rav Tzair) in Odessa and in Petrograd, and his philosophical and Biblical training were at the University of Berne. Yehezkel Lazarov ( he, יחזקאל לזרוב Y'ḥezeqel Lazarov; born 8 February 1974) is an Israeli actor, director, and multidisciplinary artist. In 2022 he was elected to serve as the head of the school of Performing Arts at the Kibbutzim Seminary College. Biography As a child, Lazarov performed as a professional tap dancer in musicals. Yehezkel Nafshy ( he, יחזקאל נפשי; born 24 November 1977) is an Israeli poet and writer. Yehezkel was born in Petah Tikva, Israel. He began his literary career at a young age. Career At age 17, he first published fantasy stories in magazines such as ''wiz'', ''Last Sorcerer'' and others, often using pseudonyms. When he was 20, he was hospitalized for a year and a half due to a rare birth defect. During his stay at the hospital he wrote his book ''Opening Now'' that won the Eisenberg prize and many literary grants. His poems have been translated into Arabic, Hindi, French, English, German and Russian. His poems were turned into songs by singers including Dan Toren, Eyal Gazit, Jasmine Even and Abigail Cohen. His Poem "At the Hour of the Objects" composed by singer E. B. Dan and was playing on the radio and the Israeli music channel 24.
