Year Of Lem
The year of 2021 is declared the Year of Stanisław Lem in Poland, according to the November 27, 2020 resolution of Sejm (the lower house of the parliament of Poland). It assigned several patrons for the year, so 2021 is to be known as the Stanisław Lem Year, Stefan Wyszyński Year, Cyprian Norwid Year, Krzysztof Kamil Baczyński Year, Tadeusz Różewicz Year, as well as the Constitution of 3 May Year in Poland. 2021 is the year of the 100th Stanisław Lem anniversary. History A petition dated by March 11, 2020, for the declaration of the Year of Lem was submitted to Marshal of Sejm by Wydawnictwo Literackie (a major publisher of Stanisław Lem's books), the Kraków Festival Bureau, and the Stanisław Lem Poland of the Future Foundation ( pl, Fundacja Polska Przyszłośći im. Stanisława Lema). President Andrzej Duda was one of the petition's supporters.

Tadeusz Różewicz
Tadeusz Różewicz (9 October 1921 – 24 April 2014) was a Polish poet, playwright, writer, and translator. Różewicz was in the first generation of Polish writers born after Poland regained its independence in 1918, following the century of foreign partitions. He was born in Radomsko, near Łódź, in 1921. He first published his poetry in 1938. During World War II, he served in the Polish underground Home Army. His elder brother, Janusz, also a poet, was executed by the Gestapo in 1944 for serving in the Polish resistance movement.
