Yeahwon Shin
Yeahwon Shin is a vocalist born in South Korea. She has performed with Egberto Gismonti. Her debut album entitled ''Yeahwon''(2010) received a Latin Grammy nomination for ''Best Musica Popular Brasileira Album'' in 2011. Her second album ''Lua Ya'' was released in August 2013 by ECM with pianist Aaron Parks and accordionist Rob Curto. Egberto Gismonti
Egberto Amin Gismonti (born December 5, 1947) is a Brazilian composer, guitarist and pianist. Biography Gismonti was born in the small city of Carmo, state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, into a musical family. His mother was from Sicily and his father was from Beirut, Lebanon. At the age of six, he started studying the piano at the Brazilian Conservatory of Music. After studying the classical repertoire in Brazil for fifteen years, he went to Paris, France, to delve into modern music. He studied with Nadia Boulanger (1887–1979), after acceptance as a student by the composer Jean Barraqué, a student of Anton Webern and Schoenberg. Boulanger encouraged Gismonti to write the collective Brazilian experience into his music. Gismonti is a self-taught guitarist. After returning to Brazil, he designed guitars with more than six strings, expanding the possibilities of the instrument. Latin Grammy Awards Of 2011
The 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards was held on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and was hosted by Lucero and Cristián de la Fuente. The eligibility period for recordings to be nominated is July 1, 2010 to June 30, 2011. The show will be aired on Univision. ECM Records
ECM (Edition of Contemporary Music) is an independent record label founded by Karl Egger, Manfred Eicher and Manfred Scheffner in Munich in 1969. While ECM is best known for jazz music, the label has released a variety of recordings, and ECM's artists often refuse to acknowledge boundaries between genres. Aaron Parks
Aaron Parks (born October 7, 1983) is an American jazz pianist. Career A native of Seattle, Parks studied at the University of Washington at the age of 14 through the Transition School and Early Entrance Program as a double major in computer science and music. At 15 he was selected to participate in the Grammy High School Jazz Ensembles which inspired him to move to New York City and transfer to the Manhattan School of Music. At Manhattan one of his teachers was Kenny Barron. During his final year he began touring with Terence Blanchard's band, recording three albums with him for Blue Note, including the Grammy-winning ''A Tale of God's Will (A Requiem for Katrina)''. Parks can be heard on the soundtracks to ''Their Eyes Were Watching God'' and the Spike Lee films ''Inside Man'', ''She Hate Me'', and ''When the Levees Broke''.
