Yaya Bauchi Tongo
Yaya Bauchi Tongo (born 18 June 1963) is a Nigerian businessman and politician representing the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Constituency in the House of Representatives of Nigeria. Early life and education Yaya Bauchi Tongo was born in 1963 in Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe State. He attended elementary and secondary schools, earning the First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) and Senior School Certificate (SSCE) in turn. He then attended college and graduated with a B.Tech. in business management. Political career Tongo was formerly the honorable chairman of the Funakaye Local Government Council and a special adviser to the Gombe State Government. Funakaye
Funakaye is a Local Government Area of Gombe State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Bajoga. Its current chairman is Alhaji Ibrahim Cheldu of the All Progressives Congress. Funakaye is bounded in the east by the Gongola River and Lake Dadin Kowa, beyond which lie Yobe State and Borno State. It has an area of 1,415 km and a population of 236,087 at the 2006 census. The postal code of the area is 762. The town got its name from the two Fulani words "funa" and "kaye" which means "west woodlands". DEMOGRAPHY Funakaye is inhabited dominantly by the Fulani people. Gombe State House Of Assembly
The Gombe State House of Assembly is the legislative arm of the government of Gombe State of Nigeria. It is a unicameral legislature with 24 members elected from the 11 local government areas of the state delineated into 24 state constituencies. Local government areas with considerably larger populations are delineated into two constituencies to give equal representation. This makes the number of legislators in the Gombe State House of Assembly 24. The fundamental functions of the Assembly are to enact new laws, amend or repeal existing laws and oversight of the executive.
