Yaw Osei Adutwum
Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum is a Ghanaian politician and member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, representing the Bosomtwe Constituency in the Ashanti Region on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party. He is noted for his unannounced teaching visits to schools, although he is not in active teaching service. On 5 March 2021, He was appointed by Nana Akufo-Addo as the Minister of Education in Ghana. Simon Osei-Mensah
Simon Osei-Mensah (born 27 May 1961) is a Ghanaian politician, a member of the 6th Parliament and 4th Republic of Ghana, and a member of the New Patriotic Party in Ghana. He is the Ashanti Regional minister of Ghana. He was appointed by President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo-Addo in January 2017 and was approved by the members of parliament in February 2017. Early life and education Osei-Mensah was born on 27 May 1961. He is from the town of Jachie in the Ashanti region. He obtained a Master of Science degree in economics from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1991. 2020 Ghanaian General Election
General elections were held in Ghana on 7 December 2020. Incumbent President Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was re-elected in the first round after securing a majority of the votes. Former President John Dramani Mahama says he will contest the results. The NPP lost its majority in the parliament, winning just as many seats as the opposition NDC, resulting in a hung parliament with a single independent (Andrew Asiamah Amoako) in the position of kingmaker. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is a social democratic political party in Ghana, founded by Jerry Rawlings, who was Head of State of Ghana from 1981 to 1993 and the President of Ghana from 1993 to 2001. Following the formation of the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC), which ruled Ghana following the military coup d'état on 31 December 1981, there was pressure from the international community to restore democracy. The NDC was formed as the ruling party ahead of elections in 1992, in which Rawlings was elected president, and in 1996 Rawlings was re-elected as the NDC candidate. Rawlings' second term ended in 2001. The NDC lost the presidency in the 2000 election, and it was not until the 2008 election, that they regained it with John Atta Mills as its candidate. Bosomtwe District
Bosomtwe District is one of the 43 districts in Ashanti Region, Ghana. Originally, it was part of the then-larger Bosomtwe-Atwima-Kwanwoma District on 10 March 1989, which was created from the former Ejisu-Juaben-Bosomtwe District Council, until the western part of the district was split off on 29 February 2008 to create Atwima-Kwanwoma District; the remaining part was renamed Bosomtwe District.
