Yasushi Nagata
was a Japanese stage, film, and television actor. Career Nagata is best known for playing gruff, domineering fathers in films like Kinoshita's '' The Snow Flurry'' and ''Immortal Love''. In the 1950s he led a campaign to establish a monument in honor of nine members of the Sakura Corps acting company who died while performing in Hiroshima at the time of the bombing, when Nagata and other troupe members had been away for military service or other reasons. Stray Dog (film)
is a 1949 Japanese film noir crime drama directed by Akira Kurosawa and starring Toshiro Mifune and Takashi Shimura. It was Kurosawa's second film of 1949 produced by the Film Art Association and released by Shintoho. It is also considered a detective movie (among the earliest Japanese films in that genre) that explores the mood of Japan during its painful postwar recovery. Sword Of The Beast
is a 1965 jidaigeki film co-written and directed by Hideo Gosha. Set in 1857 at the end of the Tokugawa Shogunate, the story follows a fugitive samurai who has killed a counselor in his clan and is on the run. He gets involved in a scheme to poach gold from the shōgun's mountain, where he encounters another samurai who is also there to poach gold. Plot Gennosuke is a rebel samurai on the run, having fled his clan after assassinating a counselor. The daughter of the counselor, Misa, and her fiancé, Daizaburo, pursue Gennosuke along with other samurai from Gennosuke's clan despite Gennosuke's obvious superiority as a warrior.
