Yasuhiro Yoshigaki
is a Japanese jazz drummer and percussionist. He is known as a founding member of the bands Altered States and Sights, as well as his work with composers Otomo Yoshihide and John Zorn. Biography During his time as a university student, Yasuhiro Yoshigaki familiarized himself with the jazz music scene in Kansai. He became involved with a number of bands, including Altered States, Date Course Pentagon Royal Garden, Emergency! and Ground Zero. Free improvisation or free music is improvised music without any rules beyond the logic or inclination of the musician(s) involved. The term can refer to both a technique (employed by any musician in any genre) and as a recognizable genre in its own right. Otomo Yoshihide
is a Japanese composer and multi-instrumentalist. He mainly plays guitar, turntables, and electronics. He first came to international prominence in the 1990s as the leader of the experimental rock group Ground Zero, and has since worked in a variety of contexts, ranging from free improvisation to noise music, noise, jazz, avant-garde and contemporary classical music, contemporary classical. He is also a pioneering figure in the Electroacoustic improvisation, EAI-scene, and is featured on important records on labels like Erstwhile Records. Rovo
Rovo is a Japanese instrumental band founded in 1996 in Tokyo by guitarist Seiichi Yamamoto ( Boredoms), electric violinist Yuji Katsui (Bondage Fruit), and synthesizer/effects technician Tatsuki Masuko, and featuring Yasuhiro Yoshigaki on drums and percussion, Youichi Okabe on drums and percussion, and Jin Harada on bass guitar. Ground Zero was a Japanese noise/improvisation band during the 1990s led by the guitarist and "turntablist" Otomo Yoshihide that had a large and rotating group of performers with two other regular performers. History Ground Zero was formed to play the John Zorn game piece ''Cobra''. They first played in August 1990 and last played in March 1998. William Otis Laswell (born February 12, 1955) is an American bass guitarist, record producer, and record label owner. He has been involved in thousands of recordings with many collaborators from all over the world. His music draws from funk, world music, jazz, dub, and ambient styles. Post-rock
Post-rock is a form of experimental rock characterized by a focus on exploring textures and timbre over traditional rock song structures, chords, or riffs.
