Yasser Triki
Yasser Mohamed Tahar Triki ( ar, ياسر تريكي; born 24 March 1997) is an Algerian athlete competing in the long jump and triple jump. He won the silver medal in the long jump at the 2017 Summer Universiade. He also won multiple medals at regional level. Triki has broken the Algerian record in triple jump several times and was the first Algerian to jump over 17 meters. Triki broke the Algerian record in the triple jump with 17.31 meters achieved in Algiers meeting on 4 June 2021, thus qualifying to the 2020 Summer Olympics. In June 2021, he won the gold medals in both long jump and triple jump at the 2021 Arab Athletics Championships held in Tunis with jumps of 7.96 meters and 17.26 meters, respectively. Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping, throwing, and walking. The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, and racewalking. The results of racing events are decided by finishing position (or time, where measured), while the jumps and throws are won by the athlete that achieves the highest or furthest measurement from a series of attempts. 2013 Arab Youth Athletics Championships
The 2013 Arab Youth Athletics Championships was the fourth edition of the international athletics competition for under-18 athletes from Arab countries. Organised by the Arab Athletic Federation, it took place in the Egyptian capital Cairo from 21–23 June. A total of forty events were contested, of which 20 by male and 20 by female athletes. 2015 African Junior Athletics Championships
The 2015 African Junior Athletics Championships was the twelfth edition of the biennial, continental athletics tournament for African athletes aged 19 years or younger. It was held at the Addis Ababa Stadium in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 5–8 March. It was the first time that Ethiopia hosted the event and followed on from the 2008 African Championships in Athletics, which was hosted at the same venue. As part of the preparations for the event, the Ethiopian government paid five million Ethiopian birr (around US$250,000) to renovate the host stadium's athletics facilities. The Ethiopian Minister for sport, Abdissa Yadeta, cited the improved international image and promotion of athletics internally as the justifications for the investment. Athletics (sport), Athletics at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 20 to 26 August at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center in Nanjing, China. Qualification Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) could enter a maximum of 36 athletes, 18 per each gender and 1 per each event. As hosts, China is given 2 quotas, 1 per each gender and 136 places. 68 spots per each gender was decided by the Tripartite Commission. The remaining 540 places were divided evenly among the individual events and were decided among a single continental qualification event for each continent with the exception of the Americas in which they hosted three. The 2014 World Junior Championships in Athletics was an international athletics competition for athletes qualifying as juniors (born 1995 or later) which was held at the Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, USA, on 22–27 July 2014.
