Yaseen Akhtar Misbahi
Yaseen Akhtar Misbahi, is Sunni Sufi Islamic scholar associated with the Ahle Sunnat Barelvi organisation Raza Academy. He is also member of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and runs the prestigious Darul Qalam Madrassa. He founded the Qadri Mosque in Zakir Nagar locality of New Delhi and was an Urdu journalist in the past who edited monthly Kanzul Iman magazine from Delhi. In 1985 during Shah Bano case, he was elected vice president of prestigious All India Muslim Personal Law Board and propagated for the protection for Shariat. He led the community in various political and social demonstration to safeguard the rights of Indian Muslims. All India Muslim Personal Law Board
The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) is a non-government organisation constituted in 1973 by that time Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi to adopt suitable strategies for the protection and continued applicability of Muslim Personal Law in India, most importantly, the Muslim Personal Law (Shariat) Application Act of 1937, providing for the application of the Islamic Law Code of Shariat to Muslims in India in personal affairs. The Act applies to all matters of personal law except such successions. Even this section had the right under laws such as the Cutchi Memons Act, 1920 and the Mahomedan Inheritance Act (II of 1897) to opt for "Mahomedan Law". Shah Bano Case
''Mohd. Ahmad Khan v. Shah Bano Begum'' 985 (1) SCALE 767 = 1985 (3) SCR 844 = 1985 (2) SCC 556 = AIR 1985 SC 945 commonly referred to as the Shah Bano case, was a controversial maintenance lawsuit in India, in which the Supreme Court delivered a judgment favouring maintenance given to an aggrieved divorced Muslim woman. Then the Congress government enacted a law with its most controversial aspect being the right to maintenance for the period of ''iddat'' after the divorce, and shifting the onus of maintaining her to her relatives or the Waqf Board. It was seen as discriminatory as it denied right to basic maintenance available to Muslim women under secular law. Shah Bano Begum who belonged to Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was divorced by her husband in 1978. Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi
Ahmed Raza Khan, commonly known as Aala Hazrat, Ahmed Raza Khan Barelvi, or Ahmed Rida Khan in Arabic, (14 June 1856 CE or 10 Shawwal 1272 AH – 28 October 1921 CE or 25 Safar 1340 AH), was an Islamic scholar, jurist, mufti, philosopher, theologian, ascetic, Sufi, poet, and mujaddid in British India. He wrote on law, religion, philosophy and the sciences, and because he mastered many subjects in both rational and religious sciences, Francis Robinson, one of the leading Western scholars of South Asian Islam, considers him to be a polymath. Arshadul Qadri (5 March 1925 – 29 April 2002) was a Sunni Islamic scholar, author and missionary activist in India associated with the Barelvi movement who established several educational institutions and organizations in India. Ahmad Saeed Kazmi (1913 – 4 June 1986, ur, ) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and Sufi. He migrated to Multan in 1935 from Amroha.
