Yarrie Station
Yarrie or Yarrie Station is a pastoral lease and cattle station that once operated as a sheep station, located approximately north east of Marble Bar and south east of Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The De Grey River runs through the property. The property currently occupies an area of and is stocked with 5,000 head of cattle. It was acquired by Annabelle Coppin in 2015; she had managed Yarrie for the previous five years, before purchasing the property from her parents. Yarrie has been held by the Coppin family for five generations. The property was established in 1886 by Christopher Coppin, who had arrived in the area in 1873. He built the stone homestead that the family live in today. By 1897, the property was stocked with 8,000 sheep. Warrawagine
Warrawagine or Warrawagine Station is a pastoral lease and cattle station located between Marble Bar and Broome in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Description The property is in size and is approximately north east of Marble Bar bordering the Great Sandy Desert. The Oakover River borders the property, and the Carawine Gorge lies within the property boundary. History Warrawagine was established in 1896 and was initially managed by Frank Thompson and his wife Ceclia. The homestead was built in 1901 along with the store, workshop shed and blacksmith shop. In 1916 the property was acquired by the Rubin family and contributed to the wool production for uniforms in both world wars. The property was acquired by Mills in 1992 and was stocked with 460 cattle at the time. Wallal Downs was acquired in 2013 when the property market for cattle stations was at its lowest point. De Grey Station is a pastoral lease, formerly a sheep station and now a cattle station, approximately east of Port Hedland on the mouth of the De Grey River in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Pardoo Station was established as an outstation of De Grey in 1869 and has a size of over . The station has sheep, breeding mares and camels and now runs 6,000 head of cattle. History De Grey is the earliest pastoral lease in Western Australia, dating from 1862. The property was owned by Samuel Peter Mackay in 1875 and was briefly managed by George Julius Brockman for three months of the same year while Mackay travelled to Melbourne. Muccan Station
Muccan or Muccan Station is a pastoral lease and cattle station that once operated as a sheep station, located approximately north east of Marble Bar, Western Australia, Marble Bar and south east of Port Hedland, Western Australia, Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Kookenyia Creek and the De Grey River run through the property. The country is gently undulating with large areas of Triodia (grass), spinifex. The lease was initially taken up by Messrs. Grant, Anderson and Edgar, who appointed Christopher Coppin as manager to pioneer the property in 1879. After seven years at Muccan Coppin left and took up the neighbouring lease and founded Yarrie Station. The ''Pilbarra Goldfield News'' was a newspaper published from 19 February 1897 to 20 March 1923, first in Marble Bar and then, from 1912, in Port Hedland, and is considered one of the earliest publications from the Pilbara. The goldfield located in the Pilbara region was separated into two parts as early as 1896, included mining in Marble Bar, Nullagine, Yandacoogina, and other localities near Marble Bar and Nullagine. De Grey River
The De Grey River is a river located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It was named on 16 August 1861 by the explorer and surveyor Francis Gregory after Thomas de Grey, 2nd Earl de Grey, who was at the time the president of the Royal Geographical Society. The river rises south of Callawa at the confluence of the Oakover and the Nullagine rivers and flows in a west-north-westerly direction eventually discharging into the Indian Ocean via Breaker Inlet about 80 km north-east of Port Hedland. Its stream bed is 100 to 130 metres wide, dry throughout most of the year . The shore's land is rich in grass and fertile, featuring trees.
