Yarck, Victoria
Yarck is a town in the upper Goulburn Valley region of Victoria (Australia), Victoria, Australia. The town is in the Shire of Murrindindi and on the Maroondah Highway, north east of the state capital, Melbourne. At the , Yarck and the surrounding area had a population of 168. Yarck Post Office opened around February 1877. The Yarck railway station, railway arrived in November 1890 when the branch line from Tallarook railway station, Tallarook was extended to Merton railway station, Merton. The line and the station closed in 1978. Facilities in the town include a general store, a hotel, two cafes, a book store, and a bakery. The Division of Indi (pronounced ) is an Australian electoral division in the state of Victoria. The division is located in the north-east of the state, adjoining the border with New South Wales. Mansfield is a small town in the foothills of the Victorian Alps in the Australian state of Victoria. It is approximately north-east of Melbourne by road. Alexandra is a town in north-east Victoria, Australia, 130 kilometres north-east of the State Capital, Melbourne. It is located at the junction of the Goulburn Valley Highway (B340) and Maroondah Highway (B360), in the Shire of Murrindindi local government area. The Goulburn Valley is a sub-region, part of the Hume region of the Australian state of Victoria. The Shire of Murrindindi is a local government area in the Hume region of Victoria, Australia, located in the north-east part of the state. It covers an area of and, in June 2018, had a population of 14,478. It includes the towns of Alexandra, Buxton, Eildon, Flowerdale, Kinglake, Marysville, Molesworth, Strath Creek, Taggerty, Yarck and Yea.
