Yannick Rathgeb
Yannick Rathgeb (born October 24, 1995) is a Swiss professional ice hockey defenseman who is currently playing with EHC Biel of the National League (NL). He previously played with HC Fribourg-Gottéron in the NL and with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Playing career Junior Rathgeb started playing hockey in his hometown of Langenthal, Switzerland before joining the SCL Tigers to play with their U20 team in the Elite Junior A league. He spent the majority of the 2011-12 season with the U17 team, playing only 8 games (3 points) with the U20. He became a regular with the U20 team the next year in 2012-13, appearing in 35 regular season games and putting up 31 points, including 15 goals. He added 3 assists in 4 post-season contests. Rathgeb joined the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the 2013-14 season as the #113 overall pick in the 2013 CHL Import Draft. Langenthal
Langenthal is a town and a municipality in the district of Oberaargau in the canton of Bern in Switzerland. On 1 January 2010 the municipality of Untersteckholz merged into the Langenthal. On 1 January 2021 the former municipality of Obersteckholz merged into Langenthal. Langenthal is an educational, cultural, and economic center for the region of Oberaargau. History Archeological evidence suggests that early settlements existed around 4000 B.C. in the Langenthal area. A Hallstatt necropolis with twelve grave mounds has been found at Unterhard. Remnants of two Roman villae have also been identified. Langenthal is first mentioned in 861, as ''marcha in Langatun'', referring to farming estates scattered along the Langete (a tributary of the Murg). Schlittschuh Club Langenthal known as SC Langenthal is a Swiss professional ice hockey team. They have played since the 2001–02 season in the Swiss League, the second tier of the main professional ice hockey league in Switzerland, behind the National League. In 2012, 2017 and 2019 the team has won the Swiss League title. The 2015 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships was the 39th edition of Ice Hockey World Junior Championship, played from December 26, 2014 to January 5, 2015. The Switzerland men's national under 20 ice hockey team is the national under-20 ice hockey team of Switzerland. The team is controlled by the Schweizerischer Eishockeyverband, a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation. History Switzerland played its first game in 1977 against the Soviet Union during the 1978 IIHF World U20 Championship. Switzerland lost the game 1–18 and finished last in the tournament and were relegated to the Pool B tournament for the following year. After winning the 1979 Pool B tournament of the 1979 IIHF World U20 Championship they were promoted back to the top Pool A championship. During the 1980 IIHF World U20 Championship Switzerland suffered their worst defeat in international participation after being beaten by Finland 1–19.
