Yannathan Railway Station
Yannathan was a railway station on the Strzelecki line in South Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. The station was opened on 29 June 1922. Strzelecki Railway Line
The Strzelecki railway line was a 49 km steam-era branch railway line in Victoria, Australia. The line opened in June 1922, branching off the former ''Great Southern Railway'' ( South Gippsland line) at Koo Wee Rup Station. The main line branched off the current Pakenham line at Dandenong, extending out into the South Gippsland region. Construction The line was constructed with 'D' steel rail, using sleepers long, wide and deep, with nine sleepers being used for every , or 20 sleepers per length of rail, laid on a ballast of sand deep. South Gippsland
South Gippsland, a region of Gippsland in Victoria, Australia, is a well-watered region consisting of low, rolling hills descending to the coast in the south and the Latrobe Valley in the north. Lang Lang River
The Lang Lang River is a perennial river of the Western Port catchment, located in the West Gippsland region of the Australian state of Victoria. Location and features The Lang Lang River rises in the Strzelecki Ranges in the East Poowong valley, north of the town of . The river flows generally northwest, then west, joined by one minor tributary, before reaching its river mouth and emptying into the Western Port, near the town of Lang Lang. The river descends approximately over its course. The river is fairly slow running and does flood occasionally with resultant disruptions to major roads like the South Gippsland Highway and Westernport Road and it can often leave residents stranded in nearby town Lang Lang.
