Nyahururu (formerly known as Thomson's Falls) is a town in Kenya, lying north east of Nakuru. The town derives its name from the Maasai word e-naiwurruwurr, meaning waterfall and/or windy or place of storms. It is located in Laikipia County. Despite this, Nyahururu formerly functioned as the administrative capital of Nyandarua County, before it became a county, until the headquarters was shifted to Ol Kalou. There have been calls for a reversal. The town has an urban population of 36,450. The town still continues to be a central economic power of the immediate former district of Nyandarua. For that reason, the town has strong economic ties to the two counties. Kenyan Provincial League
The Kenyan Regional Leagues are the fourth tier in the Kenyan football league system. They have a promotion and relegation system with FKF Division One and the Kenyan County Champions League, and consists of 8 regional leagues. From the beginning of the 2014 season, the Kenyan Regional Leagues (previously known as the Kenyan Provincial Leagues) were taken down from the third tier to give way to the Kenyan National Super League, the new second tier, now putting them below FKF Division One and above the Kenyan County Champions League, in line with the introduction of a new six-tier system by the Football Kenya Federation to take effect from the beginning of that season. 2012 FKF Division One
The 2012 FKF Division One was the inaugural season of FKF Division One and the 49th second division season since it began in 1963. It began on 3 March with Kariobangi Sharks and Congo JMJ United in Zone A and on the same date with Kakamega Homeboyz and Kisumu Municipal in Zone B, and ended on 18 November with Nairobi Stima and MOYAS in Zone A and on the same date with Timsales and Yanga in Zone B. Compared to the 2010 season of the then Nationwide League, the 2011 season of the FKL and KFF Nationwide League was considered to be a lot better because of major improvements in integrity of referees and playing surfaces. The major complaints of occurrences in 2010 were significantly reduced after the establishment of the NFL Oversight Committee, which closely monitored Football Kenya Limited's running of the league. FKF Division One is the third tier in the Kenyan football league system. It has a promotion and relegation system with the Kenyan National Super League and the Kenyan Provincial League. It is controlled by the Football Kenya Federation. Most member clubs are semi-professional, while others are either fully professional or amateur. History The league was formed after the Kenyan Nationwide League was divided into two 16-team zones in 2008.
