Yang Yang (conductor)
Yang Yang (杨洋) is the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra. Yang Yang has conducted more than 20 domestic and foreign symphony orchestras. Yang started his career in 1998 at the first Beijing Musical Festival, and continued to conduct there for the next seven years. From 2000 to 2005, Yang held the position of Assistant Conductor at the China Philharmonic Orchestra, and is currently their Assistant Art Director. He became the Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009. In November 2006, he won First Place at the Dimitris Mitropoulos International Competition for Orchestral Conducting in Greece. It was the first time a Chinese conductor received this honor. Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra () was founded on December 25, 2007 and completed its establishment on April 20, 2009, with Deng Jingshan as the President, Yang Yang as the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor, Guan Haochuan and Lin Shangzhuan as the Vice President. Besides, Ning Feng Ning Feng (宁峰, born 1982) is a Chinese violinist. He was born in Chengdu, China, and is based in Berlin. Beijing Music Festival
The Beijing Music Festival (BMF) is an annual music festival held in Beijing which according to Chinaculture.org has become one of the most well-known musical events in the world, drawing international attention. According to Chinaculture.org the festival presents about 30 concerts in October every year offering a wide variety of classical and jazz music including opera, orchestral, chamber, solo, and choral concerts. BMF also gives prominence to music education and community engagement offering free children's concerts and students' concerts, as well as master classes which draw about 6,000 music students, teachers, and spectators. It prides itself in presenting both Western and Chinese music alike. China Philharmonic Orchestra
The China Philharmonic Orchestra (中国爱乐乐团; abbreviated CPO) is an orchestra founded in Beijing, China, on May 25, 2000, based on the previous "China Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra". It is a division of the State Administration of Radio, Film, and Television (SARFT) of the People's Republic of China. Its inaugural concert was held on December 16, 2000, conducted by artistic director Long Yu. Their first season included the world premiere by Julian Lloyd Webber of the Cello Concerto No. 1 by Philip Glass and the symphonic Beijing opera '' Women Generals of the Yangs'' by Du Mingxin, their first commissioned symphonic work. The CPO has performed in some of the top classical music venues in the United States during several world tours, in Taiwan in 2001 as well as many countries, including Japan and Korea in 2002.
