Yang Huaiqing
Yang Huaiqing (; February 1939 – 12 December 2012) was an admiral in the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLA Navy) of China. He was a member of the 15th and 16th Central Committees of the Chinese Communist Party. He was a delegate to the 8th National People's Congress. Biography Yang was born in Shouguang County (now Shouguang), Shandong, in February 1939. He enlisted in the People's Liberation Army (PLA) in January 1958, and joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in May 1960. He was assigned to the East Sea Fleet in August 1970. He moved up the ranks to become deputy head of Cadre Division of the Political Department in September 1981 and head in June 1983. He became director of the Political Department of the in August 1985, and two years later entered the Central Party School of the Chinese Communist Party. Yang (; ) is the transcription of a Chinese family name. It is the sixth most common surname in Mainland China. It is the 16th surname on the ''Hundred Family Surnames'' text. The Yang clan was founded by Boqiao, son of Duke Wu of Jin in the Spring and Autumn Period of the Ji (姬) surname, the surname of the royal family during the Zhou dynasty ) who was enfeoffed in the state of Yang. Shi Yunsheng
Shi Yunsheng (; born 1940 in Fushun, Liaoning) is a retired naval aviator and admiral of the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) of China. He was the fifth commander of the PLAN (1996–2003). He was the commander of air force of South Sea Fleet, and was promoted to vice commander of air force of Navy in 1990. Two years later, he was promoted to vice commander of PLA Navy. In November 1996, he was appointed as commander in chief of the Navy. This was followed by a promotion to full admiral in 2000. In June 2003, Shi was dismissed and forced into retirement after the fatal submarine 361 incident. He was replaced by Admiral Zhang Dingfa.
