Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Of Sabah
The Governor of Sabah (Yang di-Pertua Negeri) is the ceremonial head of state of the Malaysian state of Sabah. The Yang di-Pertua Negeri is styled Tuan Yang Terutama (TYT; "His Excellency"). The current officeholder is Juhar Mahiruddin, who was sworn in on 1 January 2011. Appointment The office of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri (governor) is established by the Constitution of Sabah. According to Article 1 (1) of the Constitution, the office must exist and be appointed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (king) after consultation with the chief minister. Every governor is appointed for a term of four years. However, the king reserves the power to extend his term of appointment. The governor has neither a deputy nor assistant. However, in event of his inability to govern the state due to illness, absence or any other cause, the king reserves the power to appoint a person to exercise the function of the governor. Juhar Mahiruddin
Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Juhar bin Mahiruddin ( ms, جوهر بن ماهرالدين, label= Jawi, script=arab, italic=unset; born 5 November 1953) is a Malaysian politician who has been the 10th Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah since January 2011. He was Speaker of the Sabah State Legislative Assembly from December 2002 to December 2010. He was Deputy Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat from October 1990 to November 1999. He is also the Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sabah. Juhar is a founding member of the United Malays National Organisation's (UMNO) branch in Sabah. Biography Juhar was born on Tambisan Island, off the coast of the Sandakan Division in Sabah in 1953 to a political family. His father, Mahiruddin Husin was a member of the United Sabah National Organisation (USNO). Fuad Stephens
Muhammad Fuad Stephens, (born Donald Aloysius Marmaduke Stephens; 14 September 1920 – 6 June 1976) was a Malaysian politician who served as the 1st and 5th Chief Minister of Sabah from September 1963 to December 1964 and again briefly from April 1976 to his death in June 1976, 3rd Yang di-Pertua Negara of Sabah from September 1973 to July 1975, 6th High Commissioner of Malaysia to Australia from 1968 to 1973. In addition, he also served as the 1st ''Huguan Siou'' or Paramount Leader of the Kadazandusun community. He played a role in bringing Sabah into the Federation of Malaysia in 1963. Crown Colony Of North Borneo
The Crown Colony of North Borneo was a British Crown colony on the island of Borneo established in 1946 shortly after the dissolution of the British Military Administration. The Crown Colony of Labuan joined the new Crown Colony during its formation. It was succeeded as the state of Sabah through the formation of the Federation of Malaysia on 16 September 1963. Ahmadshah bin Abdullah ( Jawi: أحمد شاه عبدﷲ; born 9 December 1946) is a retired Malaysian civil servant who served as Yang di-Pertua Negeri (Governor) of the state of Sabah from 2003 to 2010. He is currently a Pro-Chancellor of MARA University of Technology. Tun Datuk Seri Panglima Sakaran Mohd Hashim bin Dandai (15 April 1930 – 30 August 2021) was a Malaysian politician. Biography He served as the 8th Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah from January 1995 to December 2002, 8th Chief Minister of Sabah briefly from March 1994 to December 1994 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Semporna from August 1986 to April 1995. In August 2021, Sakaran Dandai was diagnosed with COVID-19 and admitted to intensive care unit (ICU) at Gleneagles Hospital, Kota Kinabalu. On 30 August at 5:30 a.m., Sakaran aged 91, died due to COVID-19. He was buried at Makam Pahlawan near the Sabah State Mosque in Kota Kinabalu.
