Llandel Veguilla Malavé (born; January 14, 1977), known professionally as Yandel, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter and the half member of the reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. He released his first solo album, '' Quien Contra Mí'', in 2003. His second solo studio album, '' De Líder a Leyenda'', was released in 2013 and was certified Gold (Latin) by the RIAA in 2014. Early life and family Llandel Veguilla Malavé was born on January 14, 1977, in Cayey, Puerto Rico, the son of Julio Veguilla and Lucy Malavé. He has two siblings, a younger brother named Gadiel, who is also a singer and a sister named Linnette. Before he became a singer, Yandel worked as a barber in his hometown. Music career Yandel met Wisin in school. They began performing as a duo in 1998 (Yandel then billing himself as "Llandel") and made their album debut in 2000 with ''Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio''. Cayey (), officially Cayey de Muesas, is a mountain town and municipality in central Puerto Rico located on the Sierra de Cayey within the Central Mountain range, north of Salinas and Guayama; south of Cidra and Caguas; east of Aibonito and Salinas; and west of San Lorenzo. Quien Contra Mí
''Quien Contra Mí'' (English: ''Who's Against Me?'') is the debut album by Puerto Rican reggaeton singer-songwriter Yandel released physically on September 15, 2003, through Fresh Production, and released Worldwide on January 13, 2004, through Lideres Entertainment Group. The album was re-released on January 30, 2007, through Machete Music an urban music label owned by Universal. Three songs from the album were released as singles with their respective music video; "Te Suelto El Pelo", "Ya Yo Me Cansé" and "Say Ho!", they were included on the Bonus CD Edition from the album. Despite the songs "Mami Yo Quisiera Quedarme" featuring Alexis and "En La Disco Me Conoció" featuring Fido, weren't released officially as singles, both were featured at the end of the video of "Te Suelto El Pelo". ''Update'' (stylized ''#Update'') is the fourth studio album (sixth overall) by Puerto Rican singer and songwriter Yandel, released on September 8, 2017, under Sony Music Latin. It was released two years after his previous studio album, '' Dangerous''. Lyrically, ''Update'' explores themes ranging from romance, sex, and dance. ''Dangerous'' is the third studio album (fourth overall) by Puerto Rican reggaeton and pop artist Yandel, of the duo Wisin & Yandel, released worldwide on November 6, 2015 through Sony Music Latin. Contrary of his previous studio album, '' De Líder A Leyenda'', ''Dangerous'' focuses mainly on reggaeton music, with some synthpop and electropop exceptions. The album includes the singles, "Rakata," "Llamé Pa' Verte (Bailando Sexy)," and "Noche de Sexo", each of which were top five hits on the U.S. ''Billboard'' Hot Latin Tracks chart.
