Chen Yan (governor)
Chen Yan (. 891) was a Chinese warlord in Fujian during the late Tang. He served as governor (观察使 ''guāncháshǐ'') of the Fujian Circuit, headquartered in what is now Fuzhou. Life It is not known when Chen Yan was born, but it is known that he was from Jian Prefecture ( now Nanping).''Zizhi Tongjian'', vol. 256. In or around 878, when the major agrarian rebel Huang Chao was pillaging the Fujian region on his way south toward Guang Prefecture (廣州 in modern Guangzhou, Guangdong), Chen gathered several thousand men around him to protect their home territory, and named the army Jiulong Army (). Then-governor of Fujian, Zheng Yi () thus made Chen his deputy in his position as the military prefect (團練使 ''Tuanlianshi'') of Fujian's capital Fu (now Fuzhou). Chen Yan (born 1963)
Chen Yan (; born August 1963) is a former Chinese politician who spent his entire career in southwest China's Guizhou province. As of March 2024 he was under investigation by China's top anti-graft watchdog. Previously he served as vice chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and before that, mayor of Guiyang and mayor of Tongren. Chen was a delegate to the 13th National People's Congress. Early life and education Chen was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu, in August 1963. In 1982, he enrolled at the Renmin University of China, where he majored in national economic planning. He joined the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in March 1986. Chen Yan (; born 1963) is a Chinese dramatist and novelist best known for his novel ''The Protagonist'' which won the 10th Mao Dun Literature Prize in 2019, one of the most prestigious literature prizes in China. Yan Chen ( zh, 陈焱) is a Chinese mechanical engineer specializing in reconfigurable mechanisms including rigid origami, metamaterials, and deployable structures. She is a professor of mechanical engineering at Tianjin University, where she heads the Motion Structure Laboratory. Education and career Chen studied engineering at the Jilin University of Technology (now part of Jilin University), earning a bachelor's degree in 1997 and a bachelor's degree in 1999. Chen Yan (; born May 2, 1979, in Nanjing, Jiangsu) is a former China, Chinese swimmer. She won the bronze medal in the Swimming at the 1996 Summer Olympics – Women's 4 × 100 metre medley relay, 4×100 m medley relay at the 1996 Summer Olympics. At the 1997 FINA Short Course World Championships she won the gold medal in the 1997 FINA Short Course World Championships - Women's 200m Backstroke, 200 m backstroke and the silver medal in the 1997 FINA Short Course World Championships - Women's 100m Backstroke, 100 m backstroke.
