Yamato 2520
was Yoshinobu Nishizaki's attempt at a sequel to ''Space Battleship Yamato'', set several hundred years after the original series. However, Nishizaki was sued by Leiji Matsumoto for breach of copyright. Ultimately, ''Yamato 2520'' was left unfinished after only three episodes (of planned ten) were released. The episodes came out on VHS and LaserDisc for home media. The OVA series features mechanical designs by Syd Mead and a soundtrack by jazz musician David Matthews. Yoshinobu Nishizaki
was a Japanese film producer best known as one of the two co-creators of the anime series ''Space Battleship Yamato''. He was sometimes credited as ''Yoshinori Nishizaki''. He was born in 1934 and graduated from the Nihon University Art Department. Life and work Nishizaki graduated in 1957 from Nippon University. His first love was music; he owned a jazz club and was also a jazz radio personality. He formed Office Academy in 1963 as a music production company. Nishizaki's entry into the anime world came in 1970 when he joined Osamu Tezuka's animation studio, Mushi Production, as a sales manager; his first job was to sell the studio's anime ''Marvelous Melmo'' to a TV broadcaster in Osaka. Isshin Chiba
is a Japanese voice actor who appeared in 35 films since he first started acting in 1990 and is best known for doing the voice of Jin Kazama from the ''Tekken'' series.
