Yamaros FC, formerly known as Vats Yamaros or Vitis Yamaros for sponsorship reasons, is a semi-professional association football club based in Gerehu, Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, founded around 2010. The club took part in one edition of the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League, finishing 6th out of six teams in the 2017 edition of the competition. The club has also taken part in several editions of the Port Moresby Premier Division, having won the title once in 2011. History The club was founded sometime before their first competitive outing in the Port Moresby Premier Division in 2010, in which they finished runners-up to University after a 2–0 defeat in the Grand Final. Papua New Guinea National Soccer League
The KPHL National Soccer League, also known as the Kumul Petroleum Holdings Limited National Soccer League for sponsorship reasons, is the men's top division of professional soccer in Papua New Guinea. It is a nationwide league formed in 2006 by Papua New Guinea Football Association. It replaced the Papua New Guinea National Club Championship as the country's major soccer competition. In its 13 seasons, the competition has been won by only two clubs: Hekari United won the first eight editions, while Lae City have won the last six. The 2017 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League season was the 11th edition of the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League. The title was won by Lae City Dwellers, who were awarded the title by virtue of their superior regular season record, after the Papua New Guinea Football Association cancelled the playoffs and the Grand Final. Teams The season was the first after the league split, which saw 11 out of the 18 regional football associations break away from the league and form their own association. The 2013 Papua New Guinea National Soccer League season, known as the Telikom NSL Cup for sponsorship reasons, was the seventh edition of Papua New Guinea National Soccer League. FC Momase, formerly known as Meril Momase, is a semi-professional association football club based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and founded sometime before 1984. The side took part in one edition of the Papua New Guinea National Soccer League in 2018, finishing 6th after being suspended midway through the season. They have also won the Port Moresby Premier League once, in 2013. History The first records of the club competing competitively are from the 1984 Papua New Guinea National Club Championship, in which they finished third in Group 1.
