Yamaha RD350LC
The Yamaha RD350LC was a two-stroke motorcycle produced by Yamaha between 1980 and 1983. Although it immediately succeeded the larger RD400, the RD350LC was powered by a smaller 347cc parallel twin two-stroke engine which actually had the same bore and stroke as the older RD350 (64 x 54mm). However, Yamaha added liquid cooling and made other modifications in porting and exhaust to comply with ever-tightening emissions regulations. The RD350LC was later replaced by the RZ350 / RD350LC II / RD350 YPVS in 1983, but the LC(1) was also sold in that year alongside the new bike. The RD350LC was aimed at the European market alongside the smaller capacity Yamaha RD250LC. The 1980 to 1982 350 cc models were codenamed 4L0 and are affectionately known as ''Elsie''.Henshaw 2001, p. 414. Yamaha RD400
The RD400 is a two-stroke air cooled six-speed motorcycle produced by Yamaha from 1976 until 1979. It evolved directly from the Yamaha RD350 The 350 evolved into the RD400C in 1976, the "D" and "E" in '77–'78 and the final model, the white 1979 RD400F. (The model year for the first RD400, which was sold in the U.S. in the summer of 1975, was 1976.) The RD series was discontinued due to new emissions rules in the late 70's and eventually all road motorcycles were 4-stroke engines and did not burn oil with the fuel mixture to lubricate the pistons. The RD400 came with a unique self-cancelling light system that measured wheel rotations after the indicator lights were enabled. Also, for convenience, the RD did not require pre-mix fuel in the tank since it came with a 2-stroke oil pump which delivered the appropriate amount of oil when the throttle was engaged. Yamaha RZ350
The Yamaha RZ350 is a two-stroke motorcycle produced by Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Yamaha between 1983 and 1996. Available in the US from 1983-1985, Canada until 1990 and Brazil until 1996. The RZ was the final evolution of the popular and well-known series of RD Yamaha motorcycles, and as such is also known as the RD350LC II or RD350 YPVS. It is powered by a twin-carburetted reed valve inducted, liquid-cooled, 347cc parallel-twin two-stroke engine, with a bore and stroke of 64mm x 54mm. The RD350 is a two-stroke motorcycle produced by Yamaha from 1973 to 1975. It evolved directly from the piston port (pre-reed valve intake tract), front drum-braked, five-speed Yamaha 350 cc "R5". The engine is an air-cooled, parallel twin, six-speed (in some markets, such as the UK, the first model was sold in five-speed form), reed valve-equipped intake tract two-stroke engine.
