Yam Ah Mee
Yam Ah Mee (, born 2 July 1957) is a Singaporean former brigadier-general and civil servant who served as Chief Executive Director of the People's Association between 2010 and 2013. He was also known for his monotone voice and expressionless demeanour as the returning officer for the 2011 Singaporean general election, 2011 general election. Biography Yam was educated at Hwa Chong Junior College, before graduating from the University of New South Wales with a first class honours degree in engineering. He graduated from the Royal Military College, Duntroon in Australia, with The Queens Medal in 1980, under a scholarship conferred by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). He also completed a Master of Business Administration degree at the National University of Singapore and a Master of Public Administration degree at Harvard University. A by-election for the Punggol East Single Member Constituency in Singapore was held on 26 January 2013 with Lee Li Lian from the Worker's Party as the winning candidate. This followed due to the resignation of former parliamentary speaker Michael Palmer from the People's Action Party on 12 December 2012. A by-election for the Hougang Single Member Constituency in Singapore was held on 26 May 2012 with Png Eng Huat from the Worker's Party as the winning candidate. This followed due to the expulsion of Yaw Shin Leong from the Worker's Party on 15 February 2012, which he decided not to appeal. On 22 February 2012, the Speaker Michael Palmer declared the seat vacant, effective from the date of expulsion, as required by the Constitution of the Republic of Singapore. This was the 16th by-election since the first election, and the first by-election after over 19 years since 1992. The 2011 Singaporean presidential election was held to elect the next President of Singapore. Four eligible candidates were issued certificates of eligibility by the Presidential Elections Committee, and were nominated on Nomination Day with Tony Tan as the winning candidate due to a popular vote. Lee Hsien Loong
Lee Hsien Loong (; born 10 February 1952) is a Singaporean politician and former brigadier-general who has been serving as Prime Minister of Singapore and Secretary-General of the People's Action Party since 2004. Singapore Youth Flying Club
The Singapore Youth Flying Club (SYFC), headquartered at Seletar Airport, was established in December 1971 as the Junior Flying Club, by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). It aims to introduce and promote aviation to students, by providing aeromodelling courses for secondary school students and flight training courses for pre-tertiary students. The club's purpose is to provide flying experience to students, and boost recruiting for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF).
