Yallourn Football Club
Yallourn Football Club was an Australian Rules Football Club based in Yallourn, Victoria, which ran from 1921 to 1976. History ;Yallourn Football Club The first documented football match that Yallourn FC was involved in was a practice match against Morwell in 1921. In 1922, Yallourn were admitted into the Central Gippsland Football Association. Reg Anthony was elected as captain. Between 1937 and 1940 Yallourn entered two teams into the Central Gippsland Football Association, under the names of Yallourn Blue and Yallourn Gold, with Yallourn Blue winning the 1939 Central Gippsland Football Association premiership. In 1947, Yallourn had two sides in the Central Gippsland Football League Seconds competition, Yallourn and Yallourn Youths. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. There are rules on how the ball can be handled; for example, players running with the ball must intermittently bounce or touch it on the ground. Vince Irwin
Vincent Michael Irwin (4 February 1899 – 29 May 1959) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1920s. Jim Lawn
James E. Lawn (5 May 1902 – 10 August 1972) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Scott Lee (footballer)
Scott Lee (born 5 June 1963) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) and Central District Football Club in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Lee, originally from Yallourn, started out at Hawthorn in the 1980s but couldn't find his way into the firsts and had just one night premiership game to show for his time at the club. He got a clearance to Central District in 1985 and gave them good service as a defender, winning 'Best and Fairests' in 1987 and 1990, before getting his second chance at playing AFL when Adelaide recruited him for their inaugural season.
