Yalla (band)
Yalla ( uz, Ялла, Yalla) is a folk rock band from Uzbekistan. They appeared in 1970 and in the 1970s–1980s, were popular all over the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact countries. The most prominent song of Yalla was "''У́чкудук, три коло́дца''" ( trans. ''Uchkuduk, tri kalodtsa''; Russian for " Uchkuduk, three water wells"), released in 1981, and one of the most popular hits in the USSR in 1980s. They sing in Uzbek, Russian, and occasionally some other languages, such as Arabic, German and Tatar. The leader of the band is Farrukh Zokirov. The members of Yalla are graduates of the Ostrovsky Theatrical Art Institute and the Ashrafi State Conservatory in Tashkent. They are not Russian but Uzbek, a Turkic nationality from the crossroads of the ancient Silk Road. Thomas White (musician)
Thomas White (born 30 April 1984) is an English, Brighton-based musician. Along with their brother, Alex, they form the nucleus of psych-pop band The Electric Soft Parade. They have released four albums and a six-track EP. They also contributes vocals and guitar to cult Brighton super-group Brakes, and drums and bass to Restlesslist and Clowns. Besides performing solo and in their own groups, White regularly appears as a session player for, among others, Patrick Wolf, British Sea Power, Levellers and Sparks. Early life Educated at Davigdor Infants, Somerhill Juniors and Hove Park schools, they signed their first record deal (with DB Records) whilst still 16 and studying for their GCSEs. "Yalla" is a song recorded by Romanian singer Inna for her eponymous fourth studio album (2015) and its Japanese counterpart, '' Body and the Sun'' (2015). It was released on 3 November 2015 through Empire and Roton. The recording was written by Marcel Botezan, Sebastian Barac, Nadir Tamuz Augustin and Inna, while production was handled by the first two under the name of Play & Win. A dance-pop and Eurodance track, "Yalla" is sung in both English and Arabic. Music critics were positive towards the song, commending its production and commercial appeal. An accompanying music video for "Yalla" (which received notable airplay in Romania) was shot by Barna Nemethi in Marrakesh, Morocco and premiered on YouTube on 12 November 2015. Trim Ademi (; born 29 February 1992), known professionally as Capital T, is a Kosovo-Albanian rapper, singer and songwriter. Born and raised in Pristina, his uncle introduced him to music and rapping at an early age. ''3'' is the third studio album recorded by the French singer and songwriter Calogero. It was released in 2004 and achieved smash success, becoming the second best-selling album of the year in France. Album information The album, for which all the music was composed by Calogero, was written by several artists, such as Lionel Florence (who had already worked with Pascal Obispo, Patricia Kaas and Nolwenn Leroy), Zazie, Raphael and Calogero's brother, Gioacchino. ''Rock Art and the X-Ray Style'' is the debut album by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros, released on 18 October 1999. This album featured the band in its first incarnation: Joe Strummer and Antony Genn on guitar and vocals, Martin Slattery playing keyboards and guitar, Steve "Smiley" Barnard on drums, Pablo Cook on other percussion instruments, and Scott Shields on bass. Richard Flack also did engineering on the album. The record marked Strummer's re-emergence from a long absence in the music scene, his last record being 1989's '' Earthquake Weather'', a decade earlier.
